StartPlanting Posted June 23, 2023 I love the proportional length in your sculpts. I feel it is not as common to see this feature, especially in anime style faces. So I feel this is unique, also the dolls have so much character just as a sculpt. Then to see the profile, the sculpt is surprising and expressive, so you are able to create length but not flatness even in simple features. Please keep updating! Your process is fascinating.

NatsukiP Posted July 10, 2023 It's been a while guys! I've been trying to survive the summer and found myself juggling 3 jobs at the moment and haven't had any time to actually work on my sculpts. But I was able to try out my silicon and see if it's reacted with the clay I have, and so far it cured without any reactions or not able to become cured. I haven't tried out my resin yet, but hopefully after the 15th of this month I can try to make test casts of Polaris. She's about 80% done, with her head cap needing the most finishing. Sadly not photos for right now, but once I return home I can post more of my progress.

Thank you so much! For some reason my topic didn't show these replies when I was writing my previous post. I wanted to create more mature looking faces since I personally haven't seen many heads with these features, but I also wanted dolls that blend in with my own dolls. One thing that has helped me to get better is studying anatomy and other artist I like to understand how they sculpt certain features. I plan to try my hand at casting them to see what works, since it was quite costly to send it to a company, and I can control to quantities sold. Hopefully that goes well lol.
NatsukiP Posted July 24, 2023 Really quick update: so I tried resin casting today and it came out terrible lol. She had so many air bubbles on her face, so I’ll be attempting more after work tomorrow. Also used the flesh color I ordered and it can pretty close to dd normal just more pink and the resin itself was translucent. I tried saving the head by covering her in resin and and sanding but it wasn’t every effective. My master is still fine, and I still have silicone, but I need to get new clay to help make the mold since my current one was too soft. But here she is with a quick face up to show off her charms. The resin itself feels a lot like vinyl so I’m happy with it. Hopefully the next cast will be better, if not I’ll have to redo the mold and buy a pressure pot at least.
Doloramore Posted July 27, 2023 Your sculpts are gorgeous! I'm glad to see more male face sculpts as there isn't much of them out here and also female shapes with a more mature look 🥰 I hope your next cast will go as planned!! best of luck!
