Chubby Smartdoll bodies?

I haven’t seen anyone post these here yet, it seems like a chubby Smartdoll body is in the works! Personally I’m very interested in getting one, I think these models look great so far

I don’t plan on getting one, but I think a ton of people will! It’s a really great idea and the prototype Danny posted on his Instagram looks great. 

I also don't plan on getting one but I like it! Curious to see the final body and the new head~

i want one already 😭😭

The body type is now known as Pear Body. Here are more updates:

 

I'm super hyped for her. Hopefully they'll share her measurements before release. I'm curious if I could potentially resize patterns for curvy playline dolls, or maybe adapt ones for bigger resin girls.

Another update on the pear body, looks like she is getting closer to be ready!

 

I'm looking forward to getting one.  As a plus sized person I feel that it's nice to have representation, and I honestly think the new girl/body is cute.  I already have clothing that will fit her ^,^

so much hype... i hadnt been on the smartdoll hype train in a while but i will for a chubby doll!

I am bummed that anime sculpts appear to have been shelved save for occasional reruns, and there are none in sight for this lovely lady. The new faces are cute, but not for my personal collection. Still, I will look forward to enjoying her from afar, and hoping for the possibility that they will develop some for her one day. I appreciate the effort the team has made, pursuing this earnestly and with accuracy, and that Danny actually okayed it and is dedicating serious time and resources. She's not just a girl with a bigger stomach slapped on- she's a fuller figure proper. While resin has embraced that lately, this is a first for vinyl. I only hope she's accessible to everyone, and as solid as her skinnier sisters. She certainly looks well-designed, and I've been impressed with the clear improvements between SMD body generations so far.

yeah i really liked the anime chi head they occasionally post her with. i just dont like the grey. at least not unless i have a character for that.

I am in love with the pictures that I have seen of the pear body for Smartdoll and was a little sad that the release so far has been "quarter 2 in 2024". XD It will be totally worth the weight though. Being on the larger end physically, it's really inspiring for me and helps me to feel beautiful to see this body type represented in a positive way. I can't wait to bring one home!

I was lucky and got a Live and Let Live, the pear girls are truly lovely in person.  I love that Smart Doll seems to be leaning hard into having more then one body type. 
Pretty sure the new pear ladies are my new favorite female doll option out there.

I really want a pear girl but I've not kept up with Smartdolls before. Are the drops announced ahead of time, and where do they announce them?

Yes, Danny posts release info on the @SmartdollLand Twitter account.

@seaslugs Danny doesn't always announce new dolls, but when he does it's either on the twitter account or his Instagram. He didn't give an exact time with the first wave pear girls, but gave a slight soon heads up on Instagram. Then over 2 or 3 days/night small batches of them dropped at slightly different times each night so as to let more people in different time zones have the chance at them.

 

The pear girls have dropped several times and appear sporadically now - keep an eye out and you should be able to snag one! I want one myself but I keep buying other things while I'm waiting for a drop.

Thanks for the info everyone. I was checking their main Twitter and totally didn't realize that they had a separate one for release announcements.

I have one pear girl and hope to get another. I love her to pieces. As someone who has been larger all my life, it's one of the first dolls that I really feel could reflect me. If someone is tossing around getting a pear girl, I would definitely encourage it!
