 I'm curious about everyone's favorite dolls! I can be one that you own, want to have or even a beloved character you've made... Show your favorite and tell me why you love it so much 🥰

 

Since I don't own yet a doll I'll start with my favorite one I'd love to own someday! Rosalie I just really love her sculpt and full set! Just looking at her makes me happy lmao

My all time favorite doll, and the one that I finally obtained after 9 years, is Dollfie Dream Kanu Unchou.

I also have 3 other "favorite dolls" of mine that I own. DD Sasara, Tamaki and Ryomou.

I only have one favorite doll if mine left that I'm missing from my collection, DD Beatrice, and it's almost been a 10 year search for her.

 

I really love your favorite doll, and I hope you find her and her fullset someday! ❤

She's so cute! I really love how she looks 🥰 I get the obitsu body but did you use a figure for her head or is it a special doll head? It looks so good!

This one right here is my ultimate favorite doll. She was my grail for 10 years, but she was so expensive. Then I enter the lottery when she was rereleased in 2014 and lost. But thank God I finally found her head “Sasara white gothic” on Mandarake at a “decent” price LOL she still is the more expensive doll I had bought and she was only the head.

I named her unicorn because I though she was just a mythical creature that I would never own.

I have many, many, many dolls and they're all special in their own little ways.

Misaki is definitely one of my true favourites though.

She was an impulse buy from a social media site. As soon as her former owner posted her picture she was mobbed with admirers. I was so fortunate I had the funds to acquire her with the bonus that I was located in the same country as the seller.

She's a tan MDD mochi-ashi with DD-H-21 head and elf ears. Presumably she was a Dream Choice. Her vinyl is in great condition but her skeleton had many issues, some of which I've solved (arms) and some I've not (legs).

I had a bit of drama when I bought her as I realised she didn't come with her original outfit. Happily the seller told me where to buy it from, so I was able to recreate it. Now she's wearing something completely different.

She was not cheap, but I didn't pay a bad price considering the hassle and cost it would have been to have acquired her via a proxy.

This outfit is a composite of one of the 404 outfits from Chips Studio, Volks Halloween set, Volks Dolpa 49 new shoes and collar and MacBook accessories from AliExpress. The glasses were borrowed stolen from Ciel's uniform set.

Your Misaki is beautiful I can totally see why she was popular among buyers, congrats on getting her! Tan dolls are rare so I'm happy you've shown one ❤️

She has a killer style! Love how you dressed her 🥰

Amber was the first DD to invite herself to stay under my roof and she's still my best girl.

Sakura has a special place as the second doll I bought, but she's the one who sucked me into the hobby:

My first doll Kos-Mos was intended to be displayed alongside my other Kos-Mos figures, and I didn't intend another. Sakura has the sweetest face and looking at her cheers me up.

 

While I don't have a firm favourite in my collection which currently consists of 2 Smart Dolls and 6 Dollfies the one I am most pleased to have in my collection is my Smart Doll Anomaly zombie.

She became a grail of mine at the end of last year and I was determined to get her. I missed all of her releases despite staying awake while 4-5am due to time differences to try grab her. I never managed to get her before the blue skin tone was discontinued and ended up buying her body, head, wig and eyes separately from places like YJA, ebay and etsy.

She’s just so much fun to sew for! She feels so very elegant. And I can make the most fun things for her!

While I do love all my little crew members, it's no secret that I'm playing favourites.

My grumpy little glasses girl gets to try on all the new outfits first (not always to her enjoyment) and when I take a doll along, she's the one I'll bring most often.

I still think she was the best of the Smart Doll line and think it's so odd she's been discontinued. 

I have a lot of dolls, and a lot of beauties that I really enjoy photographing among them, but I've gotta give this one to Poppy:

She comes to every doll meet I go to, has the most photos out of everyone, and is the one that best matches my personal aesthetic. She's a delight!

My Sasara v1 I own since 2012 for sure!! I named her after Starscream, she is also the reason why I started to paint dolls.

The other one is Megatron, my yukiho, She had a helmet before. Yukiho is kinda an unicron doll for me, I had a hard time finding her until 2022, a head pop up in my price range.

Kirika is fast becoming a favourite of mine.

I have many (many) dolls now. Kirika has 10x more stories and anecdotes than just about any of my dolls (except for Towa).

I think my Kirika should be an inspirational DD for every DD in the world. Not long after I acquired her, she was cursed with a totally a hideous stain but benzoyl peroxide + a LOT of heat completely 100% reversed it. Vinyl dolls are truly something special.

Not only that but she was kind of instrumental in making me quit my job getting me fired and then assisting in getting me hired elsewhere for a very substantial salary increase.

Here she is in fabulously rare Ginger Tea Sweets Paradise outfit. While I'm unlikely to ever sell any of my DD stuff, I imagine outfits like this will become increasingly sought after after all the Mikus in the world find their original pleather outfits have deteriorated.

Oddly, Kirika will be Miku forever because this particular Miku wig is so tight fitting it will be destroyed if anyone else wears it. This is not true of the original Miku wig I bought for Towa. That one slipped on really easily but was damaged by the relentless wind in our seaside town and finally destroyed by a Tangle Teaser.

It's not easy being Miku, or even cosplaying as her.

Since this thread is in off topic I guess I can post my fave doll, Cygnus. He’s a SD Boyhood Cecile who went on to become my favourite OC, and I have multiple dolls of him for different ages/styles. I’d love a DD version one day, but I’m waiting for that perfect sculpt to come along.

But being a vinyl doll forum I still ought to nominate a fave from that camp, which will probably always be Rin, the one who got me into DDs to begin with nearly 8 years ago. I still think she’s the cutest face Volks have ever made (along with MDD Arle of course)
 

My Iplehouse SID Eva is my favorite doll of my grown-up dolls. I just love her so much! She's beautiful, sexy, sweet, naughty, cute, and everything all rolled into one wonderful woman ❤️

The Rina i've wound up with is something of a double whammy. After being the Azure-toybox fanboy who's illusions were broken pretty harshly resulting in a loathing of all things photoshopped, I still always felt the need to be at a certain level of photography before getting one myself. The custom paintwork one was just adding to that feeling, and whenever she's out, I feel like I really need to be on my A-game.
