Smart Doll Head Display Storage

Recommended Posts

CrimsonSkadi

I had someone asking about my display so I figured I should just share it!

I bought this 4 x 4 x 4 acrylic boxes from amazon, and modified the free bust STL file by ardichan on Thingiverse.

Support Files: Google Drive

Both Supported and Unsupported versions.

This is how I store/display my extra smart doll heads:

I currently only have 1 of the heads on the modified stand. The rest I need to get from my husband who printed them for me.

Here is a closer look at a head in the box:

This is what the modified stand looks like:

Here it is printed:

A small circle was added at the bottom of the stand base to allow me to add a bit of bluetack to hold the stand to the box.

The nut helps secure the head to the stand. You might not necessarily need it.

I hope this helps with a storage/display idea for your heads. If you want to use the STL file without modifying it, you may be able to find boxes of the right size.

I am not sure if I am allowed to share the modified STL file. Hence the reason why I didn't put it here.

Edit: STL files have been added.

Please note that the nut won't fit if you have an eye cradle. You don't necessary need the nut unless you will be shaking it or tossing the box around.

I love the idea and it looks very nice! Like a floating head museum that lets you enjoy the bodyless girls!

Very cool. 😁

Looks great in combination with the acrylic cases. I can think of some cool ways to display that in unexpected places.

The original file can be traced back to the Small bust file made by Danny Choo. He posted that for all uses by others.

This means he is the first licence holder of this file. The owner rights lies with him.

@Rajke Thank you for the info! I will ask my husband to send me the modified file and update my post with it soon.

For now I have an update...need more clear cases!

Updated first post with the google drive link to the STL files. Supported and Unsupported versions. You don't need the nut if it has the eye cradle as it won't fit. Though that doesn't seem to cause issues if the nut is not being used.

That's really clever! You could do an awesome Princess Langwidere from the Oz books with this!

OMG I was legit just thinking that. XD

Anyway I agree with Scholar and others this is a clever and cool storage idea for floating heads.
