Compatible bodies for Obitsu 50 heads?

Recommended Posts

Doloramore

Hi,

I'm giving to a friend my Obitsu 50 head and I'd like to know what are her options for bodies! Being still a total newbie I learned the hard way that OB50 and DDdy didn't mix so I'm making this post to avoid any errors on my part 😅

Aside from the OB50 body what bodies would be compatible?

I guess Azone 1/3 bodies and even some 1/4 bodies like Imomo or MDD would work fine. It depends which head sculpt tbh.

  • Thanks 1

Thank you, I'll look into it!

The sculpt is a OB50-03 if it helps:IMG_20230819_122814.jpg.5176722c0206d5cb98aab04189402c71.jpg

Angelphilia headless bodies? (well, they're obitsu 50/48 to the core...).

Obitsu has 40/45 body's that can work for a obitsu 50cm head.

Obitsu heads will fit on any of the "Obitsu Family" bodies, so Angel Philia, Azone 1/3, and Parabox are all valid options, as mentioned above. Parabox in particular is very accessible, their site ships all over the place and they have a good selection of compatible bodies from 40cm all the way up through 50cm. Angel Philia bodies are harder to find and more expensive, as they only rarely sell just the body, and as far as I know Azone NEVER does, so your best bet there is finding one secondhand.

If you're willing to use a proxy to buy a neck adapter off of Yahoo Japan Auctions (or are willing to drill a hole in a bottlecap and sandwich the head between it and the neck) you can also use Volks's MDD and DDP bodies. I'd recommend the DDP, as they're more mature looking than MDD, but they're hard to clothe and don't have many options for hands.

Imomodoll's paler skintone will also work with Obitsu, and for that sculpt I'd recommend their Mimi body sculpt, as it's more mature.

Tinyfox 1/4 should also work, but there may be a bit of a color mismatch, as their white skin is VERY pale.

Honestly you can't go wrong with any 1/4 scale body, as Obitsu's "1/3" has been at 1/4 scale for a while, ever since their 55 and 60cm bodies were discontinued. As long as the body matches Volks Flesh or Semiwhite (Obitsu is in between both), you could use just about any body between 40 and 50 cm tall. What I listed above are just the options in vinyl. Though, if you want to go as far as recommending any resin bodies to your friend, I'd also recommend putting a washer between the S hook and the head itself so that the hook doesn't damage the head over time.

Angelphilia bodies are sold new on Mandarake pretty regularly nowadays, although they’re usually tan skin for some reason 🤔

Azone very occasionally takes orders for bodies with its proprietary parts (AZO2 bodies and the 45cm Iris Collect Petit body), but it’s faster and easier to order a standard body through Parabox or Obitsu itself.
