Miku NT's outing to the beach.

It kind of feels strange having had Miku for so long already but so many people are still waiting on her.

Anyway, she's definitely worth the wait. I'm getting to really bond with this googly-eyed little beauty.

 

Just got an email from Volks USA saying pre-orders for her should ship around late July to mid August!!

Looks like some shipping notices are starting to arrive! I got mine this morning! I hope I'm not working when she arrives!

I also got a shipping notice.  It's perfect timing since I'm attending a con next week and will be cosplaying as Miku 😊

My NT came a couple of days early but I have to wait till I'm off work to open her 😭

So my Miku came damaged with two deep slices on the front of her torso at the shoulder 😕 but it's okay. I had a bad day at work and dressed her anyway and am in love. My part time sound engineer husband was delighted by the real life audio editing references and she is now his favorite

I imagine that Volks will be able to just send you a new body.  At least her outfit should cover most of the damage for now!

I messaged them asking for a new torso piece since that's all that's damaged so hopefully they'll be cool with that.

If you got her from Japan, they may ask you to send the part to Volks USA for them to check, then you should get a replacement. 

You can always buy her a replacement bust if they didn't replace it, but I am pretty sure they will. 

Hello everyone 

I just got my Miku NT, she is my second DD so I need some assistance on this 

Her eye makeup on her left eye looks blotchy/grainy. While her right looks fine. But when I compare the paint job to my snow Miku, her eye makeup is way sharper. 

 

Is this normal for DD dolls or should I contact VOLKS about it? Any info much appreciated!

I compared her to a few of my girls and yes it looks a bit off. I think on the one eye the mask might have slipped a bit. I don't have a Miku NT to compare too, so I can't say if she's like the others. 

I wouldn't say that the eyes on mine all have perfect sharp lines, but you have to look really close to see the small imperfections. As far as graininess, they all have a bit of grain, but again, how does she compare to other Miku NTs? You can always email Volks Japan or Volks USA and ask if this is normal or if something is wrong with yours.

Like any doll line not all will be the same, just wasn't sure if this is a forsure defect for an expensive item

The more I look at her, the more I think she's ok. What may be a bit different is the green on top of the black; tiny imperfections are going to show through more readily because they have such a dark color behind them. 

That's a very close-up view of her too, so small imperfections will be more visible. These are handmade so there will be small variations in each doll, and they do call that out on their disclaimers. If you view her from a normal distance, does she look as good as her product images or another doll with a Volks face-up?

My Miku NT just in case anyone wants a comparison. She's not wearing her NT wig of course. My Miku was from the Dolpa where she was unveiled (November 2023) so she's a first gen with the typo on the skirt.

What I mostly noticed about her at first were here cross-eyes. Then I realised that was intentional.

I wasn't sure about her at first but now Miku and Yoru are two of my favourites.

Another thing I've noticed about Miku is I think her shoulder sockets are different to everybody else. I haven't quite figured out what's changed (if anything) though.

Since it was a topic of discussion earlier in this thread, I thought people might be amused to know that now that Miku and co are returning to Vocaloid6 with a full Mikuv6 in the works they are all now Vocaloids again. (I don’t know if this means NT won’t be updated anymore though)

Oh NO. I'm afraid that this means that Volks will roll out a MikuV6 dollfie next. Just when I think my collection is complete...

I'm with you! I thought I was going to be good with my reboots, Sakura and NT now I have to potentially get a v6 Miku!! My poor wallet!

Yep. NT is still a thing and will also be updated this year.

Also, V6 Miku Dollfie is inevitable😅. luckily I have a rule against buying the same sculpt (Since I will give my DDs custom faceups eventually). So I'd only be interested in the outfit/wig. 

 

 

To be honest if they make anything for v6 I assume it will only be an outfit. Although remember, they never made any of her other alternate default outfits.

I wouldn't bet money on that.

Volks has never released a Miku version as an outfit only. Actually, they've never released any Miku version outfit only. Not Append, not V3, not V4, Not the English version, not the chinese version. Now by version, I'm talking voicebank outfits, not costumes like Mikuzukin or SenbonZakura or any Snow Miku outfit.

That’s kinda what I meant. When they never made dolls or outfits out of any of her other many voicebanks until NT, which was (allegedly) to celebrate both her 16th birthday and the DD 20th anniversary, I don’t really see why they’d start doing it now. Besides, NT isn’t exactly brand new now and the doll only came out recently, I still think it’s much more likely that Luka and possibly Sakura Miku are rereleased before anything else. 

But anyway if MikuNT will still receive updates, then she is technically still ‘the current Miku’, she just won’t be the only one. (I asked about the updates only because I thought it’d be kinda funny in a sad irony way if Volks had introduced her as the current gen ‘new technology’ Miku only to have her be obsolete less than a year later lol but I guess that’s not the case)

Part of me wonders if it wasn't to make sure she didn't win BoTB again. 

My NT arrived today and I love her ❤️.  I was a bit worried that her wig would be a nightmare (I recently got Rin and the wig is horrible) but it was painless to style and she looks really cute in curls

An update, volks emailed me this (sorry for long screenshot)

I saw someone in doll Facebook group is able to get a replacement.
