DD Hatsune Miku NT

I am about to pack mine back up again. She's missing a part, her stitching of the arm sleeves is extremely loose and I am a bit disappointed really. I did already email Volks about the missing hair accessoiry and I can fix the stitching myself but this is not how I wanted to open her. So back in the box she'll go for a bit.

My girl had damage when I opened her but Volks was really good about replacing the part so I'm sending you all the good vibes that they'll sort it out for you!

 

Also, I keep seeing the Japanese NTs have white stockings under the grey ones, did that come default or are people just doing that?

For mine, it just came with black/grey stockings, though they are light grey on the inside...but they still have already started lightly staining after just a few days' wear. 

So I'm guessing people are adding white stockings under for this reason!

Yeah, hopefully they'll get back to me. And otherwise I'll see if I can have someone scan the one I have and 3D print another.

I think people are doing that themselves. I didn't dare to put the socks on without any undersocks so I am going to make some nice tight socks to put under them. The arm sleeves also have the white undersleeves, maybe I'll see if I can make matching socks.

 

Here is my girl btw. Her wig is gorgeous tho. But I am going to have to look for other wigs because I don't wat to ruin this one.

Ah she looks so cute in the ribbon girl set!! I adore the wig so much but I'm terrible with maintenance on something like that lol

If it is the round hair pieces that are missing, there is a booth store that makes very similar ones. They've also made similar headphones to NT's as well. Considering you said they were missing from your new girl though, I hope that Volks gets back to you about it so these wouldn't have to be an option for you!! NGL I'm starting to feel very lucky that I've never had a defective face-up, damaged doll, or missing item with any of my new DDs, these things sound a bit common. At least with these Vocaloid ones, but maybe that's just me looking for things to worry about. 😓

Thanks! I'll definitely check it out if Volks doesn't reply. I have contacted them before about a brand new doll having neckcracks and they never responded so fingers crossed they will now. 

And yess. I was lucky to find a very cheap set only missing the blouse, socks, wig and shoes. I made a blouse and socks for it and added the skates instead of shoes and will buy a ponytail wig from Cotindoll soon.

Update regarding replacement

I received my Miku on Monday, and today I finally had free time to open her. She is magnificent, I love her, I am very happy with the purchase, even if one of the sleeves has a small defect, I do not know if I should ask for a replacement or not.

 

I'm glad I read the posts, now I'm going to take off her stockings right away, it's a real shame that they stain so quickly. I thought that this type of material wouldn't stain the doll. Do you have thiockings to recommend or other methods to avoid staining Miku? Because I would like to display her with her clothes.

 

Is there anyone looking for Miku NT here on the forums? I just got mine in from my proxy (brand new), but I might sell her here if there's any interest.

Hi, I hope I'm not asking in the wrong place but mikus my first dollfie and I was wondering how do i keep her hair (specifically the curls) the way it is?? Unboxed her recently, and the curls already started deflating and the hairs are going out of place and fraying everywhere (how do i fix that??). Should I buy some sort of hair gel or spray for it? Would it ruin her face?

Again hoping this isn't a repeat question someone else on the forum (also any tips overall would be nice (I'm constantly worried I'm going to break her some way or another))

Don't use human hair products on her, and don't get hair products on her face. Volks makes some products for managing hair, and they make something called Wig Wax, which helps with styling the doll wigs. They also make a styling tool that looks like a toothbrush, but the pointed end is useful for managing curls  

The weight of Miku's wig is going to cause some flattening.

Stray hairs on wavy / curly wigs are a pain in the butt, and I'm not the best person to tell you how to deal with that part of the problem. I can manage them on simpler wigs, but Miku's would be beyond me.

If you're really having a hard time with Miku's twintails, Cotindoll makes a lot of wigs that can be ordered in Miku's color. Wavy doll wigs are hard to manage and tough for the first time doll owner.

They do have a couple that look like her earlier straight twin tail wig, if you really like the classic twin tail look, but one of them is sold out at the moment. I think they restock "sold out" products periodically. 

Any wig with a black cap should have a protective cloth wig cap put under it. Volks sells those. 

finally got my customs letter, (I was hoping to avoid it but oh well).

it was £39, so honestly I don't mind. Funniest outcome is having to pay the miku number to release miku.

That's not bad! I had 200 something euros 😅 and that's a funny coincidence with the 39.

I pay 130€ in Germany and thought it was too much.

I never opened my miku NT's set but after reading about other people getting defects, I think I should check as well
