DD Hatsune Miku NT

I find written Japanese very mysterious. I've been gradually building a dictionary of search terms for use on Buyee but some terms are really tricky as they seem to use kana rather than kanji ('eyes' is a good example).

Back on Miku topic there are some good videos on her official channel to celebrate her 16th birthday. I've bought a couple of figures to celebrate (I'll wait for reboot Miku rather than pick up a second hand DD Miku).

What? They are no longer Vocaloids? At least NT isn't? This is news to me. Why? Guess I need to start googling.

Googling complete:

I guess I just missed Crypton's announcement that they are moving away from the Vocaloid engine. Granted, it did not matter until NT, right? This is the first non-Vocaloid release?

I have been rather out of the loop for Vocaloid VB products for a bit, but based on my reading it was probably a smart move.

Vocaloid is a brand name owned by Yamaha, who produces the editing software. The Hatsune Miku NT runs on a different editor, so it legally isn't a vocaloid. But vocaloid is a label that is applied to voicebanks that also run on other software and people understand it, even if it isn't technically correct. The new Kasane Teto voicebank runs on a non Yamaha software, but people have no real issue calling it an upgrade from UTAU to Vocaloid.

I'm excited for Miku NT as a full doll. Don't have any dolls yet but have been waiting a Miku DD and don't want to pay a large sum of money for an older style+sculpt Miku.

This is finally a chance for me to buy Miku directly from Volks so I'm keen on having some money ready for when she comes out.

I love Miku NT's design so I'm super excited to see this~ Can't wait to see what she'll end up looking like. I'm definitely also hoping her inner sleeves are included to help prevent staining...! Seems like we have a while to wait before seeing an actual doll though.

A new head sculpt for Miku would be very cool! Depending on how she looks, I may have to try and pick her up

Me too! Trying not to get over excited about it though. She could turn out all about the pudgy cheeks and flat faced like so many of the "recent" releases and there's also the weird eye makeup thing. We're gonna have to wait and see.

A new scuplt would be interesting. Hopefully the outfit isn't movement limiting as the original release.

looking for - , Marisa Short Wig, full set Beatrice or default face + eyes & Sasara Fullset or default face + eyes.

the new girlier outfit style is cute, but why does her face look a zombie .... something about the eyes is too pale!

The new outfit is... interesting.

I guess it will last a lot longer, but I was hoping for the classic Miku outfit.

I don't know if she has vinyl boots though.

I really like her, I never got the original version or reboot version, but now that the NT version is coming out, I’ll probably get her.

I thought her face sculpt was going to be different but it’s the same just with a different faceup.

I am very pleased with this image. I love the sculpt so no problem with them reusing. I do feel this faceup looks a bit more like Miku than the original one. I do prefer the darker eye color to these new ones. I also think the outfit looks great! The inner sleeves people were concerned about are clearly visible and the sleeves overall look better for posing.

She’s pretty much exactly what I was hoping for in terms of a new faceup. I really like the teal highlights on the eyeliner. I’m glad she has the white inner sleeves after all since they were curiously missing from the new iXima pic they announced her with.

I don’t want to get her because I already have regular Miku, but it would be nice to get the outfit and wig although I’m not expecting either to be offered separate. (Also not sure if it’s the lighting or it really is a nicer lighter teal like I hoped, her nails too, but it looks nice). But I’m surprised she’s coming so soon because I expected her April at the very earliest.

Something about her eyes looks funny to me - almost like she's looking in two different directions. But I still think she looks cute overall!

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

What's the exact reasoning on that?

most likely the paywalled exclusive preview nature of MikuNT and Frieren. Its been discussed before on the mdd 2.0 threads.

Thanks for the clarification, I kinda figured so.

Its laughable though that now we aren't allowed to share what's floating around on Twitter, go figure. Didn't know we were somehow part of Volks Inc. subsidiaries .

So now the corporation that milks every penny of out pockets now wants to create a paywall to keep a portion of us "non paying" loyal customers from learning -before hand- about whatever super high corporate secrets only unlockable by paying some pocket  change first? And also that there's active policing here enforcing that silliness upon us? Even more laughable jeez

It’s not on twitter…? It’s a perk for VS and GL members to see these images a week early via the VS/GL-only blog posts. They’re public and free game after a week or 2, and I know it’s not a big deal, but it’s still just kinda disappointing seeing GL always immediately ignore the disclaimer and rush to post them while the VS members respect the honour system and wait until they’re public. That kind of ‘well I think it’s dumb so the rules don’t apply to me’ is the kind of behaviour that really reflects badly on the userbase to me.

Note I’m not saying this to attack the people who posted the images here, because they might not have known themselves or forgot in the excitement (and I don’t get the sense that anyone did so just to be contrarian). I also think discussing what’s in the images should be fine. But regardless on personal feelings of this, IMO while this forum isn’t ‘official’ or anything it does have a reputation as some kind of representation of the overseas fanbase, so it makes sense to me to respect that rule. No need to be rude and sassy about it.

Its called common courtesy. if I recall correct the MDD blog posts had a specific request of not reposting the images or technical info elsewhere, so it became a matter of honoring a simple request. I didnt see such limitation to the dolpa lineup, but one might assume the same general thought counted there being a VS/GL paywalled announcement.

and as monty mentioned, even if someone on twitter decides to jump the gun and repost anyways, doesent mean the forum has to follow suit despite the cat being out of the bag figuratively speaking. And the general public posts will come out within weeks, so its just a matter of patience.

My bad, didn't know about all this but still think there's no need to take posts down for that reason alone. However as I mentioned didn't know about "the club" and just ran to share what I casually found on my Twitter "for you" feed.

The images and text are Volks' intellectual property, and they get to decide what anyone is allowed to republish. When you login to the site and view the Miku & Frieren pages there is a disclaimer in red right at the top forbidding the use of the images and text contained on those pages in any other media. If we allow people to share them, then the forum is in violation of Volks copyright.

I'd share the exact text, but the way it's worded it's covered by the same "don't share any of this" disclaimer.

The people sharing on Twitter are violating copyright law and Volks' trust, so while I get that it's out there, it's not allowed here.

As Monty pointed out, discussions about what you see are fine, but reproduction of images and text that belong to Volks isn't allowed without their permission. In a few more weeks, we have permission.

I’m very excited about this Miku NT. I’ve been hesitant about getting a Miku for a while (despite collecting the vocaloid boys). I hope she comes out before the Miku 2024 concert in the states.
