kurimu's Photo Thread

Hi everyone! I decided to start a thread for my dolls as I would like to practice photography and figured this would be a good way to motivate me to take more pictures 😊

 

Here are a couple of photos of my first doll, Nia. I bought her around used from Mandarake around 2020, and she was the first Dollfie Dream I was able to purchase after years of admiring them.

Her head was extremely yellowed when I got her, so I used cream hair developer to remove the yellowing and did a new faceup for her. Her body still has some yellowing, but I think it's overall mostly unnoticeable and am happy I was able to get her at a lower price.

 

I wanted to give her a new name since I changed her hair/face, but I've always struggled with thinking of names so haven't decided anything so far. Maybe something will come to me as I spend more time with her ^.^

 

Hopefully I'll be able to take more pictures of my dolls and update this thread 😆

She's beautiful! I especially love her blue wig and eyes with her skintone, they just pop!~

wow, the cream developer treatment worked so well, this is the whitest second-hand nia i've ever seen!! :0 her blue eyes & wig are a perfect combination with the white fluffy clothes, so cute!

She's so cute! Absolutely love the faceup you gave her

Thank you! I wanted to keep a hair color at least somewhat close to her original eyebrow color 😊

I was also surprised; it worked better than I thought it would!

For this update, I wanted to share my other girls who finally have clothes/eyes ready for photos!

Here's my DDH-03 - I'm not sure how I feel about the eye color as it's much more intense than I expected, but maybe I will like it more as time passes 🤗

 

I decided to go with purple eyes for my DDH-06.

And here's a picture of all three of them 😊 

I should really update this thread more - I have a bunch of dolls to add ^^;

 

But for today, here's my Sayako (DDH-14) at the park ^.^ Thinking of poses using only fist hands was kind of a challenge for me, so I may need to buy her more hands.. or get better at posing dolls 😛

 

 

I also did a faceup for my first MDD, a DDH-27 head. I wasn't as interested in the standard faceups Volks offers for MDDs to spend enough for a dream choice doll, but I still enjoy seeing MDDs so decided to try making my own faceup.

Now that I own one, I can understand why people have multiple MDDs - the smaller size can be easier to deal with, and they are very cute 😊

I wanted to share some more photos of Marin now that she's finished (featuring Snoopy and My Melody)! I'm always afraid to go many places outside with my dolls, so it's hard to think of photo ideas stuck in the apartment or the park all the time...hopefully I can get more outfits and more locations to take pictures in the future ^^;
