Dollfie Dream Cosplay

Hi everyone, I guess you can still call me a newbie at dollfie dreams :3. Last year in November I bought a Yukino DD (her name is Yukiko) because I couldn't afford the Image Characters, well what I really wanted was a K-ON dollfie but O.O too expensive, i wanted to make Yukiko cosplay as Mio, and its a miracle i found someone selling Mio's uniform. Well now I am waiting for her uniform and wig I bought separately on ebay to arrive. I just want some opinions of how u think this will turn out. is Yukiko a good pick to cosplay as Mio?

 

I know its mainly what I think, but I just feel curious about other dollfie dream owners' opinion about it because noone made a Yukino DD cosplay as mio before XD

other questions, will black socks stain? how about blue shimapan?

i was thinking about wrapping her feet and calves with something before putting on the socks

I too have some questions about a girl cosplaying another. We see a lot of girls doing cosplays. But I never seen someone really transform an image DD into a girl that already exists...

 

Well, Scripple did a custom Asuka because he didn't fell the one volks released was really Asuka. But I never seen someone picking Sakura Matou and saying she would be Yoko, for an example.

I am very curious about how people would react in a situation like this.

 

Regarding your post, probably you would get more answers if you split it.... One in the "looking for" area, announcing you want to buy Mio outfit, one in the "character concepts" questioning about using Yukino as Mio.

You could ask about the staining in the character concepts post, or make a third post in the newbies area.

Some socks are really a stain nightmare, but some stores use an different fabric, that makes it less staining.

I think Yukino would be a cute Mio. I can't wait to see photos of her. The blue shimapan don't stain but those little Volks tags with the black thread can if the pantsu are tight. I am not sure about the socks. You are right that it is safer to protect her feet.

 

I agree that you see more limited characters stay as their character, in casual clothes like a regular girl, or doing cosplay but not so much permanent changes (like changing faceup) to turn them into a different character. I have seen limited girls dressed up as Black Rock Shooter, Hatsune Miku, and the Rozen Maiden girls, but not so often as characters that have already been released as DDs.

 

I am curious now about how Sakura would look at a Yoko. MsGeek once mentioned that Yoko could be a cute Nuku Nuku on an L-bust DDII body instead of DDdy. It is really fun to see what others come up with when making their own version of a character.

I feel this probably would have been better left in the "Character Concepts" section. A body stocking will keep Yukiko's legs safe from the black socks.

 

We've seen an 04 head redone into Yoko, and we've seen girls cosplaying each other (Billy's Mai cosplayed Beato a while back) but I agree not too many image girls done into OTHER image girls/characters.

 

There's a user who used a Fate/Nanoha head and remade it into Miku (he's over on figure.fm and was featured on Danny Choo's blog).

 

If you ask me Juu-Yuki's Sakura's doing a good job of channeling her inner Yuki Morikawa with the faceup she's given her. ^_^

Toel-uru has a lot of image girls with their faceups redone to look like other girls. I strongly recommend checking out Toel-uru's photostream on flickr, as well as posts on figure.fm!
