Dollfie Dream Len Arrival

Dhl said he would arrive on the 2nd of Nov. but he somehow got delivered to today, wow!  I ain't complaining though, I get to enjoy having him earlier than expected. Can't wait for his twin Rin to arrive, tracking says she will arrive on the 2nd as well.

Unfortunately his wig arrived a lil crispy  Only his bangs are fried though the fibers feel a bit like straw, I guess thats to be expected with volks wig.

From what I have seen on twitter, it seems to be an issue with a lot of other reboot Lens as well sadly. Not sure if it would be worth contacting volks about a replacement since I've already found another shop that does a Rin and Len wig that will probably have better quality fiber than what volks has.

Hes still adorable even with his fried straw wig. 

Also, here's the links for the Kagamine wig dupes for anyone who want a replacement or if anyone also has a crispy fried Len. They need a minimum of 8 maybe 10 people before they can manufacture a batch of wigs.

Congrats on your new boy! He still looks handsome with his fried wig lol Though, I'm sorry that his wig quality is so poor! It seems that Volks wigs quality have gone down lately T_T

Hopefully Rin will arrive at your doorsteps early too! 

 

My Len arrived as well. I popped his head off and stuffed him in a girl wig and he already works as a girl without a new face-up, but he'll be getting one as soon as I pick a face-up artist. 

Haven't decided if I want to do a girl next door look, or more of an art makeup look.

Thanks! And yeah it seems volks wigs are very hit or miss, the Shin Sato wig I have is pretty decent quality. Kaitos is pretty good too except for having some inconsistencies haircut wise among everyone who has gotten him. 

Hoping Rin will arrive earlier than expected too! 🙏

Can't wait to see your Len's final look! His sculpt does make for a nice girl too. 

Debating on getting a spare Len head for an oc of mine as Len's sculpt is perfect for him next year when I have more funds again.

Yea I've been seeing a lot of complaints about his wig lately too, nearly every tweet I'd see regarding him would be people talking about it. Fingers crossed that it's something that can be easily fixed/styled 😓. Maybe boil washing would help? Not certain on that, but maybe. Its helped a lot with frizziness on some of my wigs. Hopefully you'll have more luck with your Rin's wig tho, but I have seen some complaints about hers too. Regardless of all that, he is super cute!! ☺️

Congratulations! Thank goodness you already had a backup wig lined up for him- that default looks crispy even in photos. I hope the replacement proves as good a quality as its promo photos. But otherwise, he looks on-par with the first edition. I'm appreciating that well-applied makeup and those bright, crisp eyes. Once Rin is here, they're going to get into all the mischief. At once. Do you have any plans for them?

Yeah I saw all of the complaints on twitter too so I had prepared myself in advance, but I am still a little disappointed. I may try out some tutorials on how to fix crispy wigs and see if that does anything since I will be replacing his default wig anyway. I'm also hoping there won't be to many problems with Rins wig either.

Me too! The cls wig looks really nice from the promo photos and some other people who've bought from there have said they are good, they just take looong time to make the wigs. 

The only plans I have for them currently is maybe getting them to a faceup artist next year as I'm not a very big fan of their defaults especially Len's. I'm also hoping to get into learning some sewing next year so I can make outfits for them from project diva, projects sekai, my fav songs with them, etc.

Fortunately my Natsuki (Len) will not be needing the wig, she'll have something a bit more Miki Hoshii, but I am worried about the quality of Rin's since she is staying in character. 

My pair arrived today.

I was expecting the worse but I don't think their wigs are that bad. Rin's is better. Len's is a little crispy.

I'm keeping this pair as themselves for the forseeable future, but we do have a tonne of other wigs in case they want to cosplay as somebody else.

Oh and the keytar is incredible.
