Older blank heads/no eye holes

Hi! I've seen this head that looks similar to ddh-01 but has no eye holes and a slightly different mouth. Does anyone know what the official name of it is?

That’s the one that showed up on Mandarake recently! The back of the box just says Dollfie Dream in Japanese, and Mandarake just lists it as DD Base Body Volks Shop and Hobby Tengoku Web Exclusive.

Yeah that's where I saw her 😁 there's another on mercari so I was wondering when they sold her, or if there were different versions etc

Interesting. Seems it was just a standard DDI Base Body. I guess they used to come with those heads if you ordered online?

Well I bought her so here's a comparison to 01 if anyone is interested

Definitely has much in common with the 01 sculpt. I'm curious if the sculpt number is the same or if Volks changed it between this head and 01 - it's usually engraved near the neck hole on the head as well as around the inner edge of the head cap.

Both 01 and eyeless gal both say C2003 Volks Inc Japan. So I guess she really must just be an 01 that was sold as a bonus head with the body?

Back in earlier times, Volks sold a set of decal anime eyes to put on these flat style heads (since they don't have eyeholes).

They also sold these heads with rooted hair like fashion dolls have -- when I tried searching for old reference photos I actually found a thread on here about them

 

What I'm getting at is, for a while early DDs were marketed pretty much the same as Dollfie Plus was, which is pretty wild to think about in hindsight.
