DDH-06 eye question

Because probably there will be DDH-06 closed eye head available soon (announced for Dolpa Kyoto)

I found something to compare (and to spare my poor wallet...).

It's two custom heads from the same person on Y!J.

 

 

Is it just me or these are very similar molds?

One is 06 and the other is Sakuya (could You guess which is which?

 

I think, 06 with delicate modding (for example, lowering upper eyelid a bit) could make even more pretty head and use eyes smaller than recommended 24mm.

What do You think?

I'm more interested in Your opinion about the similarity and 06 eye modding

My guess:

1st Sakuya

2nd DDH06

 

The chin looks different, Sakuya chin looks a bit more pointier.

They look really similar. If you didnt tell before...I would not have guessed it was Sakuya

My thought is too...

I think they're narrower, but not much. That's why I thought of modding 06 a little.

Original Sakuya's faceup colors are not very natural (like violet or blue eyebrows) but the face is very pretty.

Still, she's limited and several hundreds $ for the head is too much for me when she's so similar to 06.

If i would want sakuya than that would be my thought too ^^ ... (i search a head similar to Yuki ... because Yuki is to expensive for me >_> )

Hmm, I'd be interested to see a more narrow-eyed mod for 06, that sounds very cute. I think you'd have to add some epoxy to build up the eyelid level to the rest for it to look right, though. In that case it may just be easier to get the open-eyed version to mod.

 

I like 06 a lot because the well-proportioned features and sweet smile are a good match for many characters... I think Sakuya and Shirakawa are similar in that way. Just glad that Volks provided me with a cheaper version of them

Yes, I'm aware of the need of epoxy, but I thought that leaving some of the "eye" would provide better base for the epoxy.

And even when it's not a good idea, then the closed-eye version is usually a bit cheaper and You can open the eyes by yourself

And the photo looks VERY like Yuki to me

 

 

I found the artist's blog, too, but it's not very active, and didn't found the last heads there at all.
