A question of faceup commission etiquette

Recommended Posts

DesertPhantom51

So I'm working on my fifth doll, and I have a faceup artist I'd like to use, but after messaging them it's been a few days with no response.  What would you say is an appropriate amount of time to wait before moving on to another artist?  It's been three days thus far, and it's making me a little antsy, but also the holidays are here and I know people can be busy and I'm still waiting on Volks to ship me the head anyway.

During a major holiday season, if they haven't specifically indicated the holidays will affect their response time, I'd say a couple of weeks, but otherwise a week or so. I don't think there's any major faux pas of finding someone else if you're on a tight schedule; most artists I think prefer to take their time with the work, so if you're someone that likes regular frequent updates, finding an artist with that kind of style of working would probably be best for you.
