You can also get sets that cost hundreds, but I'd go with a cheap set u til you decide if you like it, then upgrade. Add a pair of bail making pliers like the ones I posted above. I'm including this video, skip to the second half to see the him create a simple wire shape. The pliers below are kind of fancy and expensive and again I wouldn't worry about upgrades until you know if this is something you want to do . A slight modification to what he does to make an ear wire, could make a shape like this: https://pin.it/4i7lqQlkt Place it between to small anvils and tap / smack them with a rawhide mallet to flatten the round wire to harden and shape it, and that earring design is a doll sized pendant. You can use a small hammer to selectively flatten the bends instead of the entire thing too. https://pin.it/5salFSVHV Or something like these: https://pin.it/PX7TfjcAx https://pin.it/4W9Eetv8B Wire wrapping on that scale to set a bead isn't exactly easy, but it's doable. Start big for practice and then shift downward to doll scales. Start with cheap craft wire and practice a bit making shapes, but if you use copper to practice, recycle your scraps and rejects, don't toss copper or silver into the trash. Thank you again for all the information!! It's a lot less intimidating going into something new like this when equipped with so much knowledge, I really appreciate it! 1 ☆⋅⋆ ───FIND ME ON─── ⋆⋅☆ DoA | Twitter | Instagram ☆⋅⋆ ────── ⋆⋅☆
Tasuke Posted December 3, 2024 (edited) I Had this YOUNG ASTRONAUTS CPK Doll as a young boy back in the latter-half of the 1980's, as my Mom did all she could to inspire an appreciation in me for NASA and general Aerospace Aviation tech; I Cannot Say with an 100% certainty that the Suit will fit her without at least some minor modification, But; 30+ years later, i am intending to bring that old CPK doll back to me... in the Perfected Form of a sweet little Butter Hunnie of an Astronaut Girl; ♥Yuna♥ (IMOMODOLL Mayoko "Little Fry Cook" Fullset... highly customized) Edited December 3, 2024 by Tasuke
la_ Posted December 24, 2024 Sliding in right before the deadline to announce that I completed one 2024 Doll goal! I got lucky enough to snag a DDB for a steal on YJA, so now I have another SWS DDB body. Unfortunately, he came with a head (M03 DDH-26!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!) so I have not solved my floating head problem. 3 https://dolldb.com/ Doll Sizing | Pattern Index

I'm not entirely happy with it tbh (especially after seeing all the beautiful dolls on here lol), so when the weather calms down/warms up again in the spring or summer, I'm gonna thicken her eyelashes, at least. With DECENT PENCILS this time lol. *Receive my a la carte Minifee Honoka and decide what I'm gonna do with her! I think I'll send her away for a faceup this time, as I don't know much about resin BJDs yet. *Actually learn how to hand sew doll clothes. I don't have access to a sewing machine atm, and it's a good skill to have regardless. I'm not making it easy for myself though, considering the pattern I have calls for stretchy fabric. *Going along with the last one, start planning a "dollsplay" for my girl so she can perhaps accompany me to my next con! (Even if I can't make her a matching outfit, I'll probably bring her in "street clothes" if there are any doll/BJD panels or meetups) Okay, overall I think I did pretty well on my goals for this past year. Ludovica's faceup: updated! I like the new one a lot more than the original, and I'd say my technique was better this time around, as well. Minifee: Yes and no... I received Honoka safely, but in person her face had a much different expression than I had gleaned from photos of the blank sculpt. (She was to be discontinued, so I admittedly didn't do as much research as I should have before getting her...) As such, I did not shell her as the character I initially had in mind, and it took until rather recently to decide a a replacement. So, she does not have a faceup or all her accessories yet, but I do know who she will become, and I'm in the beginning stages of making a yarn wig for her. Sewing: Kind of! I didn't particularly learn any new skills, but I did make a passable dress and bonnet for Ludovica. Which brings us into our next goal... Cosplay con: I finished a decent enough outfit in time for Youmacon, and I actually did bring Ludo out in a cat backpack, but it was to disappointing results. No one recognized the characters, and I overheard a fair number of less than nice comments about both my doll and myself. Two little girls thought she was cool, though, so that was nice. Overall, however, I'm not sure I'd bring Ludo to another convention unless there was a meetup/some sort of doll scene pre-established, like if I ever crossed the border and went to Anime North. All in all, not a bad year, and I'm looking forward to continuing in the hobby throughout 2025.
