Poofie's Chaotic Crew

I haven't been great about posting photos these past few years, and one of my new resolutions for 2024 is to change that. And I've decided to follow the precedent set where people have a mega-thread of photography, instead of multiple threads for different shoots. 

Today, we start with some meetup photos. We had a small holiday meetup at a local railroad themed park on Saturday the 16th. @sinclair is part of the private club that runs the smaller trains in the back of the park, and the back of the park is currently closed due to holiday decorations. He basically got us private access and gave us rides and photos on his own trains! It was me, Sinclair, @battrastard, and our local friend @MichelleAK who has the Snow Miku and the lil red boy.  

I brought Paimon and Madoka. We first went to the back clubhouse for a little safety meeting.

Okay, Paimon. This is important. Stay off the train tracks. Look both ways when crossing the tracks. Keep your arms and legs inside the train when riding, and stay seated. Okay?

"Yeah, okay, sure. Can we go outside now? Paimon heard she's getting a present!"

Well. .. smaller than the bigger train that's the main attraction of the park lololol His are around 1/8 scale, but the big park-owned train is more like an actual 1/3. 

Those little ones are sure pushing their luck riding on the tracks!  Good thing Madoka was there for the save!  😄 

I hadn't really seen Taffy before, that doll is friggin adorable!  That face is just too cute!

I wish we had something like this near me, that would be so awesome to go to!  I'd have to leave Rei and Manami home tho because Manami would try to hijack the engine and Rei would be trying to dismantle it to see what makes it work.  LOL

They really were! Of course, they were too distracted by BICYCLES to pay attention to the safety rules, lol. You know, before she got here, I was worried Madoka might get overwhelmed by all the crazy, but not only did she adapt quickly, she's honestly stepped up to the plate wrangling the littles. She has a surprising amount of Big Sister Energy lol. 

Taffy is a Tinyfox 1/6 Candy, and Rick brought her mostly in her default--he did change her eyes though, because Tinyfox eyes can be kinda flat. And she IS cute! If I hadn't already started Paimon I probably would have caved for a Candy, too, lol. The Tinyfox 1/6 twerps are a lot of big personality in a smol package. 

Dude I wish you could get the chance to come down here for a visit, we'd have a rad time. . .but I know what you mean about some individuals needing to be either left home or VERY strictly supervised. I can only bring Ags to this park if she's the ONLY one I bring, because I can't wrangle someone else AND keep her from turning the engines into some kind of death machine. Can you imagine if I'd brought Ags AND Paimon? Paimon and Taffy would have gotten SQUISHED. And resurrected.

Oh my goodness! It's like the live steamers we have out here in LA! but a smidge smaller I think? but now I kinda want to take my girls on an adventure to go on one!

I know it says "Live Steamers" on some of the signs for the club! Guess we have a branch out here. @sinclair could you maybe confirm? I'm heckin' curious now lolol

Very cool shoot. I love the train photo’s with a big group of beautiful girls. The size of the train is fitting the doll gang so well.

Okay okay, I’ll check in. All live steam clubs are separate. The LA Live Steamers are one of the biggest groups on the west coast. The track is the same gauge, so if I went to visit them I could take this with me and run there. The scale is 1.5” to the foot so about 1/8. But for our 1/3 & 1/4 dolls riding on my train looks very much like us riding on most park 1/4 trains. At home I have an O gauge layout and when I out my Pureneemos on those trains it looks like us on the live steam trains. 
 

Thanks for the clarification, @sinclair! So they aren't affiliated, maybe a loose alliance at best lol.

The park does do a lights display. . .but I was a dingus and apparently hadn't charged my DSLR before the meet, so these last shots are all from my phone. At least I remembered to bring my external battery light, so that helped a bit, but still not ideal.

Oof, I really let this thread slide. Early January I started having some health issues, but also, even though I did take some photos, I didn't get the chance to edit them, and didn't feel like they were worth posting. But then the other day I remembered "post even though photos aren't edited" WAS THE NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION I MADE. Edyuuh. So. You're going to get a rather eclectic and out of order photo dump soon. 

We're going to start with the most recent meetup in mid-April. It had a theme, "Vocaloids and Idols", because AZ finally got a stop on the Miku Expo tour that same weekend. @TechnoHornist even flew out to hang out with us!

Last one I brought was Venti. He got to come because 1, he's made out of a Kagamine Len, so he's kind of an honorary Vocaloid, and 2, a bard is basically a medieval idol, right?

In the back you can see @MichelleAK's Snow Miku and Kaito. Apparently I only got pics of them on my camera and not on my phone, though, and I haven't pulled my camera shots yet. Whoops.

After the main idol performance, we all got hungry. Most dolls opted to stay in transport for the meal, but Venti insisted on staying out because he overheard that the place we were eating had DRINKS.

Just a small update on Rieka. 

She's fine, I found her other ear once we got home from the meet. (it had fallen under the computer desk as I was wrapping her up for transport.)

We opted to do our doll meet the day before the Miku Expo concert, because 1, not everyone was doing the concert, and 2, those of us who were going mostly went with floor tickets and knew we didn't have enough hands for bringing a doll into that lol.

My Miku did, however, send a teeny proxy.

I was actually glad I brought Figma Miku, I got a little bored waiting for the doors to open lol.
