FFXIV DDS Alphinaud & Alisaie Leveilleur

I gasped outloud when I saw it. I wondered if it was news about the pre-order. Then I translated the text and it's the straight up pre-order itself.

But oof delivery in August 2025 is a long production time...

Oh wow, didn’t expect the PO to be up until September. At least that answers whether there’s a second DD to go with Kaede. But now I’m wondering if something is coming in September as well…?!

Only Alisaie. Alphinaud appears to still be on the original DDSB f3.

Wasn’t expecting to see them up until around August at the earliest. Release date is ouch, but I suppose expected with the Square-Enix collab. I’d rather that than a lottery though (however unlikely that was), may be slightly scared of how Stoli/Y’shtola would react otherwise. 👀

Also, yesssss, DDS 2.0! Poor Alphinaud though. 

I am sooo unbelievably relieved that these two can be pre-ordered with a deposit and not a full payment.

The twins look great! Alisaie especially, she's spot on imo.

Ahhhh I am unbelievably excited now lol. That boy is so cute, I might just cave. That is a really long wait though time though. Gotta think for a bit.

The annual pre-order projects are normally a one year wait. These projects are unusual in that the number of dolls you can order is unlimited, so in theory you could order 100 of them and they will make them. That's why the lead time is a year, and every so often they have to extend it bit more due to the number of orders. 

I had to choose, and I chose Alphie ordered him through SE's site vs Volks as saw them there first. I wish I could get his sister too, but can't so will have to live with picking my favorite. Now the longest doll wait begins.

 

I love both but by the end of Endwalker I was attached to Alisaie for sure. 😭

I also can’t decide whether to pre-order through Volks JP or USA. 

 

Really hope Alisaie's outfit doesn't crumble after a few years, the entire thing looks like it's made of pleather...

Just this week I was wondering when Volks would put out more info on the twins as the newest expansion draws closer and would fit to celebrate it. Definitely didn't expect that the preorder would be dropped immediately. I am glad that they're offering the two payment optino on the volks website at least. More time to ponder whether to get one or both...

I love how detailed both outfits are including their weapons! The velvet on Alphinaud's outfit looks fantastic. I'd rather have his outfit over Alisaie's, but her smile is the cuter one in my eyes.

It sadly looks like everything but her accessories are made out of pleather and I really wish Volks would've not done it like this. They know it deteriorates over time more easily than other fabrics. I know so much leather looks accurate for Alisaie but I've seen cosplayers use other materials here and there and it looked great nonetheless!

That bugs me too, on limited dolls they may be bound by the license holder, but overall less pleather would be nice. 
 

Don't play FF, but I'm ordering Alisaie so Frieren has an elf friend. 

Well... I've already caved, just had to get Alphinaud (love a good DDB).

I decided to go with Volks USA personally, the PO deposit was cheaper there than on the JP one lol. I'll worry about the rest later when it hits me

I'm going to order the girl, and I'm going to throw this odd request out there: if anyone is getting the boy and wants him to have matching ears, contact me! Lol. I don't like the uneven earring look, so I will want to trade one girl ear (don't care which) for one boy ear. 

They both look so stunning! I'm not into FFXIV but my husband is so he'll probably get Alphinaud. I love the sculpt they used for both twins so I definitely wouldn't mind having one of them in my home, even if they're not part of my collection, lol.

I was kinda thinking something similar myself, not too into earrings on my dolls but I'd love to have a pair of just the plain elf ears!

Yeah that's one thing I was disappointed with frieren. Why do the earrings have to be sculpted on? I want plain elf ears! And I want to give my other dolls earrings too!

Earcuffs might be hard to manage as a separate item, but yes it would be nice. I didn't like Frieren's being attached like that, I want her to have more earrings to wear.

I'm actually not surprised. The new FFXIV expansion drops later this month (like, in a week or two), so returning players on post-expansion hiatus after Endwalker are logging back on and dusting off their rotations. The release date for the DD twins actually makes tons of sense, though the announcement with little fanfare surprises me.

Again, congrats to all who are ordering! I shall live vicariously through you!

Aww, they're such babies. I hope someone with more time than sense makes them their weird ARR outfits. 😄

This has me so excited but so crunched for time. I've already listed one of my more expensive dolls for sale to help pay for these two. I need them. I have cats named after them!

So far no, but I would expect similar posing capabilities to DD & MDD 2.0.

Interesting if they're like Kaito and being made in unlimited quantities. Kaito is (as far as I can tell) really rare already. I saw one on Mercari JP for 210K JPY.
