Help With Removing Stains From a Faceup

Recommended Posts

Hi, I know threads on stain removal have been done to death, but I've followed the method for benzoyl multiple times and haven't been able to fix this, so I'm posting it here.

Sometime around late 2023 I used something that caused this red splotchy stain around Kseniya's mouth. I'm leaning towards it being pastels, but I've used acrylic paint too.

I wouldn't mind if it was just on her lips since I usually paint them anyways, but it's also on the sides of her mouth (despite never having the pastels or paint touch that area) and it looks kind of odd in photos.

Should I try removing it with hair developer/dream rescue, or is this basically permanent?

No expert here but some extra information would help determine the appropriate approach to fix it. From the info you provided I get that it somehow bled from your doll's lips makeup some days/weeks AFTER it was all finished, done and sealed, is that correct?

If so, I believe there's nothing to be done except wipe her clean and redo the faceup. Or you could try to remove and redo the whole lip section to see if it comes out right. I think its a 50-50 chance mainly because of the sealant but personally I'd try this before staring from scratch.

Thats my two cents. Let's hear what the experts around here have to say.

Good luck!

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get a notification for some reason.

I don't have an exact idea of the timeframe because I'm basing this mostly off of the pictures I took of her, but I do believe it happened after it was done. I think I would've noticed if it was this bad at the time.

I wiped off her faceup and did a few more rounds of the benzoyl over the weekend, the stain faded a bit and its not as noticeable anymore, so I guess I just had to be patient and keep redoing it. 😭
