Silent Posted January 24, 2024 Hi. how much is new cinammon smartdoll different in color from old/yellowed smartdoll? How long did it take to yellow? And what is diference between yellowed cinammon and new tea smart doll? I am just curious, no criticism. Every material ages over time. Sometimes things get more inferesting over time. Tira Posted January 26, 2024 Vinyl dolls typically don't yellow as easily as resins do; I've mostly heard of it being an issue for extremely pale dolls, like the now-retired Volks WS, or in cases where the doll was stored improperly. Cinnamon skintone is new enough that it's unlikely for someone to have encountered issues with it changing color. Batch differences are a more likely explanation for newer pieces not matching older ones. Even if it did yellow, it probably wouldn't match Tea. Tea is much darker, and has about the same degree of red to it as Cinnamon. This post has a good color comparison of several different brands' vinyl, including Smart Doll. Silent Posted January 26, 2024 I have one cortex cinnamon head and I remember it much more lighter than now. So that is why I am curious.
Tira Posted January 27, 2024 Is it possible you're thinking of Milk vs Cinnamon? Milk used to be the lightest Smart Doll color, but a few years back, it was replaced with Cinnamon, which is darker.
Silent Posted January 27, 2024 No, not thinking of milk vs cinnamon. Just old cinnamon vs new cinnamon. I had and still have cinnamon cortex head and it was much brighter in the beggining than it is now.

I don’t know about cortex, but it definitely seems like there are discrepancies in vinyl batches. I got my hands on a cinnamon Mirai recently who is much more orange than I was expecting compared to the older cinnamon Mirais I’ve seen in person, and in pictures of older releases, cinnamon looks much closer to milk than it does now (but that could just be lighting I guess). I love mine in all her tan glory, but I won’t be mad if her skin tone mellows out over time.
