Recommendations for shops that sell props and the sort

Recommended Posts

ButterBiscuits

Hello~

Does anybody have any go to stores that they use to buy props and accessories? I'm more specifically looking for an umbrella, sunglasses, and different types of backpacks. I'm also quite interested in things like couches, cushions, and anything of the sort so if anybody get point me in some directions that would be amazing. Thank you! 😊

Alice's Collections has some fancy coushions.
Check out rRabit too.

LegendDoll is my go-to for most items; they have a large collections of sellers.

LUTS has some stuff as well. Both their own and from other sellers.
Dollmore's also got a large, varied, selection.

It could help if you'd narrow down what size/scale, and style, you're after as well.

I always think of Nightfall Walker when I think of BJD props. Admittedly the picture quality is bad but the actual prop quality is generally okay, and they've been in the BJD prop business for about twenty years now, so they're generally dependable.

Thank you both! I'll look into them and I appreciate it! 😊

I'll have to check out JellyBean too then! I was looking on rRabit not to long ago and their sofas are very cute so I'm very tempted!

Armati (Instagram here) on Etsy makes really nice looking chairs and tables! I think they only do chairs for 1/3 (I don't see anything else in that size category)

Not sure if they're the style you're looking for but they look like this and this usually! Definitely expensive but the craftsmanship looks really nice.

If you're into crafts then there's also this easy tutorial for making 1/3 doll seats with just a metal cookie tin and some fabric. I tried it myself and it wasn't too hard; I think theirs look really good for how simple it is. If you can find smaller tins you could make it for 1/4 probably.

You can check Booth, they're sort of the Etsy of Japan. Just check the scale to make sure it's for the right sized doll.

I've found a variety of Umbrellas on eBay. Just search for bjd umbrella.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

I found these DD sized birds in my local Lidl today. I mainly wanted them for SD Mytyl's birdcage, but one of the others will be a Stille for Frieren.

Stuff like hairgrips are on AliExpress. I also found an umbrella on there and a camera, a laptop and some food accessories.

Also American Girl/I forget the other name of them have some brilliant accessories. The dolls themselves are not DD sized, so stuff like beds and horses won't fit, but the smaller accessories are perfect. I have the travel kit and it contained sunglasses, a passport, toothpaste and various snacks. They pop up on eBay (and also actual toy stores) but don't expect a bargain as the stuff is really popular.

If this store is in your local area, Daiso often sells cute miniature things in a variety of sizes. I have a sort-of 1/4 scale chair from them (mdd/msd butts fit in it, but it's a bit low to the ground), and a yosd sized shopping cart!

We found these floats on YJA. I had to tell Miku it wasn't really the time of year for going in the sea.

The floats are quite easy to find for Barbie sized dolls but these 1:3 BJD ones are more of a challenge unless you live in Japan. We didn't pay much for them but they were the hardest things ever to inflate (for some reason).

I bought this metal bench from Hobby Lobby.

Bench01.jpg

It's just a little too low for a DD

Fortunately, They also sell these pads which fit just right.

I've already posted in this thread once but it just occurred to me to recommend checking out Michaels craft store if you have one around you. I know they're in the US and Canada but I'm not sure about elsewhere. The US website only ships to the US, the Canadian site doesn't seem to specify if they ship international or not.

They're mostly an art supplies place, but they have a section with seasonal rotating "artsy home decor" stuff that can sometimes include items in the right size for 1/3 or 1/4 dolls.

It's usually fake chairs (meant for plant pots) or fake plants themselves, and random solid props of varying things, but I've also seen a sled, a wheelcart, and also bathtubs before. Other notable props I've seen pretty often include birdcages and lantern cages(?), and a big selection of old school carrying trunks.

The seasonal selection is usually pretty hit or miss but you can find some fun stuff. Sometimes they're less functional props and more decorative / better for photo background objects, like this chess piece paperweight looking thing.

There's occasionally things like this shelf, it's a tad big but could work as a bookshelf for 1/3. This gold framed mirror is cute and seems rightly sized for 1/3 if you attached it to a diorama wall. Also a sink??

Just beware that pretty much everything they sell is sorta expensive!
