Hi! Bad_Luck here! I've been lurking for a bit and finally decided to set up an account so I could join the fun!

I'm a transplant from the Midwest currently living in SoCal. I've loved dolls for as long as I can remember. My Christmas and Birthday lists were always full of dolls when I was a kid, and that hasn't changed now that I'm an adult! Back in the 2010's, I spent a few years working at an American Girl store, which remains one of the most fun jobs I've ever had. I amassed quite a collection of American Girl dolls (though my childhood Molly is still my favorite!), but within the last several years I've taken an interest in BJDs and vinyl dolls. I finally got my first Smart Doll a couple of years ago: Matilda, who is a Tea Strength. I absolutely love her, and hope to one day get another Smart Doll friend for her. (Though she tells me Xenomorphs and giant spiders make perfectly fine companions!)

I'm still a little new to the BJD and vinyl doll community, but I'm having fun learning! Other things I enjoy are anime and manga, especially 90's-early 200's anime. My username comes from the anime Gravitation. I also love sewing and cosplay. I've been going to anime and comic conventions for about twenty years now, and like my doll hobby, it's still going strong!

I also enjoy theatre, singing, and mozzarella sticks. Not necessarily in that order. I look forward to hanging out here and chatting with fellow doll people!

Hi, fellow midwesterner here! I think you'll fit in just fine here! Have you tried sewing for your Smartdoll yet? I don't own one, but I know they're blessed with a bunch of free patterns!

I missed my chance to go to the American Girl Store in Dallas during a trip there, and I still regret it ;-; it seems soooo fun, and I have a serious love of historical fashion that makes me love the historical girls in particular!

Thanks! I'm happy to be here!

I haven't tried sewing for Smart Dolls yet, but it's definitely something I've been meaning to try. I've printed out a couple of patterns, and now I just need to find the motivation to start!

I really miss the AG store. I used to work at the one at the Mall of America, which is sadly closed now. Currently the nearest store to me is in LA, over two hours away. so going there is kind of a journey. It's a shame so many stores are closing down, as some of the accessories and things work so well for so many different dolls.

Welcome! My large tribe of DD would love to raid your American Girl collection as so many of their accessories are the right size for them.

My Dollfie doll family December 2024 😊. Towa believes they are 34 in number.
