ozawa dango's cyclops girls!

it seems like there haven't been any posts about this creator on here yet!! ozawa dango is an artist primarily known for their cyclops kigurumi masks! i saw them again recently and was just so taken in (the same thing happened in middle school when i first saw images of them; i was doodling cyclops girls all over my homework for months) and wanted to see if anyone was making cyclops dolls! as it turns out, ozawa dango also makes cyclops doll heads compatible with vinyl bodies like dollfies & obitsu!!

i don't know, i just think they are so cute & wanted to share with the community! C-: i know we have at least a few cyclops/monster-y girl owners & appreciators on here

i'm definitely going to be keeping my eye on their account for updates on when they will be listing more for sale! they have a booth, but it's currently private.

Oh!! I followed them on Twitter before I deleted my account! I love their masks! Glad to see they're into dolls too, hopefully I'll be able to grab one of their heads one day. :3

Man, those heads are cute! I'll make a note of them for later. I could use one for Aka Shouta with appropriate mods for Oni horns and dying the skin red!

 

P.S. I never knew about this person before today! Their cyclops masks are so cool too!

Just FYI Parabox also has cyclops heads available, but they’re mostly (only?) 1/12 size.

oooh, i might have to look into those!! i've been thinking about building a 1/12 doll after my mdd.. a tiny little cyclops would be so cute & easy to carry around for photos!!

OH wow, very cool! I've definitely seen these masks around, but I didn't realize they were also making dolls.

I've never used booth/buyee before (I'm a taobao girly lol) but I definitely had to give it a whirl for a chance at one of these.

omg I've had an idea for a cyclops girl for ages that these heads are so perfect for! I couldn't resist so I bought the custom-style head and a couple of eyes.

I had her steal my Obitsu/Angelphilia body from another doll temporarily until she gets her own. This character originally had almost neon yellow skin and I want to keep it in some form with markings, so I'm thinking that Imomodoll's tan would look best. I do like this taller body, but I don't think the yellow would stand out enough on Angelphilia's tan.

I'll mod the eye and do a test faceup before I make any decisions though. Maybe I can make the yellow work on a lighter skin tone?

do you mean the head's skin tone is yellow? :0 or do you plan to dye/paint her? i'm super curious!! i've been putting off buying a body for my head because i haven't been able to compare her to volks flesh or sw yet (since she's still in transit) to see which one fits better.

i finally completed my little cyclops daughter!! meet hachigatsu, or august ~~

i'm still a little in shock i actually have her, lol. i'm really proud of how her faceup turned out; i think i did a pretty good job considering it was my first time! C-: i may redo it in the future, especially since i want her to have cute little blushy lines (just didn't have the right pencil color for them this time), but for now i think she's just so unbelievably cute!!

my only issue/worry is that the head may be a bit too heavy for the mdd 2.0 body. i've used the rubber tube & washer ozawa provided to secure it, but it still becomes loose & flops around wildly ;;w;; i might try bulking up the width of the neck peg with tape later!

edit: forgot to mention, but to the mods: i didn't realize it at the time i made this thread, but these heads are made of resin, so move this thread to the off-topic dolls section if needed!

These are a grey area. Except for the material, the heads meet the on-topic criteria of wigs and removable eyes. An MDD body is on-topic and hybrids are generally ok as long as the heads generally fit the on-topic guidelines. I don't see an issue having this in "other on-topic", but I'm going to ask @baldylox to weigh in on this too. 

We can always move it if needed.

Hazuki (葉月) is an actual Japanese girl’s name that means August, if you want something more natural-sounding.

thank you!! but she's actually specifically named after hachigatsu from oyasumi hologram, one of my favorite bands! & i'm also really attached to hachi as a nickname because of the manga nana~ but i'll remember hazuki now too, i wasn't aware there was another name for august!

As stated above, I think these are a bit of a gray area too but since it's in this section, it's fine.

Ahhh these are so cute, and I wasn't able to grab one at the time they were available.

Ozawa said they will be re-released eventually, so I'm hoping I can grab one next time.  

She's so adorable, I remember seeing this thread before I made an account lol and she really stuck out to me. You did a great job on her faceup!!

May I ask how the fit is on the AP body? That's what I wanted to use when I could get one in the next order.

I do have the Bonelace 3D printed neck connector already, but was curious about the neck size.
