Anyone looking to work for Volks in Japan?

Recommended Posts

PlasticFantastic

Sounds a little like a dream job for some of us but Volks has posted on their new beautiful website today that they are indeed looking to hire some talented individuals!

Anyone here meet the requirements and feel like a change of scenery?

Wonder what's up with the age limit.

Probably they wanted more matured people who would stay long in this line?

So they could decide better, instead of one who job hops after awhile in the job.

I think it's because age 20 is legal adult in Japan, so they don't want to mess with the added paperwork of bringing in people who by their system would be considered minors.

Sculptor position sounds pretty dang cool. . . but even if by some fluke of weirdness my work were good enough (which it probably isn't, haven't sculpted enough human heads yet to even satisfy myself much less them), I doubt I'd be able to work up the funds to go to an interview in freakin' Kyoto at the drop of a hat. XD

I'll stick with trying to get into the animation industry over here, thanks. But good luck to anyone trying!

In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.

This makes me laugh because I'm 25 and I'm still not "mature"

I'm really curious as to why they're advertising these positions in English, Chinese, & Korean. Are they actually looking for workers from outside of Japan? I can't imagine why'd they want to go through the costs, paperwork, & language barriers of getting foreign employees when I'm sure there are plenty of talented locals who can do those jobs.

They likely want to keep their options open! Plus Korea seems to have some of the most amazing faceup artists I've ever seen. (Toel-uru et al!)
