The Dollfie Virtual Dream Choice

I don't really know where to put this, so mods feel free to move it if you feel it'd be better somewhere else. But I'd like to share a bit of a labor of love I've been working on for a couple of months at this point. Behold, the Virtual Dream Choice! [Even more options available in my blog!]

First of all, I'd like to thank my girlfriend for making the D'Coord outfit, as well as the Dream Choice DDS dress, Fantastic Bob, Straight Bob, and WK-24! And for what this actually is...I love dress up games and dollmakers, and wanted to give people an opportunity to make their own Dollfies in pixel form! Or just make some for fun, I don't judge. It's all modular, so it should snap together pretty well! There's also a version with layers I can link to if necessary, but this should work with any image-editing software, including MS Paint! My only recommendation would be to delete the "dark" part of the eyesocket before putting eyes behind the head. I'll also add the rest of the Dream Choice heads if I find photos of them blank. But uh, have fun!

WOW these are AMAZING!!! I've been so charmed by your signature characters for a while but this is like stunning! 😭 It seems like a ridiculous amount of work.

I love your teeny renditions of all the little face sculpts in particular, they're so accurate.

So happy with how much everyone is enjoying the Virtual Dream Choice! Feel free to post your pixel dolls here! As a token of appreciation, I've been working extra hard, and with the help of the Blank Limited Mold thread, I have some collab heads for you guys!

I'll add stuff to the master image in the first post once I have enough to feel I should update it!

Added the heads, plus all the dream choice wigs!

I added, I believe, all the 1/6th Imomodolls as well! Might add their fullsets later on if I feel like it and get some good reference photos!

Thank you for making this! I decided to create my incoming girl Hanabi with it, and I'll probably create my other Dream Choice priorities, too.

Just FYI, Sakura Miku is Flesh, not SWS, so she should be a bit darker than the others.

Mizya here on the forums has reference photos for Sheryl, Mariko, Rin Kagamine, and Kaito blank.

I would also love to see the colors you'd use for dolls with atypical vinyl tones (tawny, white, and Icon green/purple) if it isn't too much trouble!

I was just thinking about the Icon girls! Saber Alter is actually a big favorite of mine (despite not being in the Fate fandom), so I'll bump her, the Icons, and Anthy up in my priority list!
Oh, and I guess Kanu too. She's kind of an odd case.

I got hyper from the feedback and did a bunch more work! I don't wanna be annoying and spam this thread, so I'm trying to space out my updates at least somewhat. I literally just realized the blog function exists, so I might use that for quick updates and the majority of the doll pixels and just use this thread for larger updates. What do you guys think? Also, if anyone uses these pixels or makes something out of them, please tell me, I'd love to see!

Let it be known I am not a fan of making sprites based on a non-blank head. Estimating how the eyeholes look is really hard for me with the faceup on. But here, more Icons, and Standards too! I also made the limited heads page easier to read/use. I know the smaller dolls are "floating", but idk how to fix that, sorry. Maybe some smart bbcode could fix it?

For reasons know not to god or man, I'm rapidly approaching 100 finished limited heads. I'm at 90 right now, with ten to go. Right now I'm doing them in alphabetical order, but if anyone has a doll they'd like to see, either as a head or finished doll pixel, please tell me! Engagement really helps motivate me and helps convince me I'm not just projecting my insanity out there for no reason, lol. Maybe at 100 heads I could do something special for you all, some kind of pixel asset for anyone on the forum to use? What do you guys think? Please let me know!

This took me back to playing with the KISS online paper dolls. What a great memory. Thank you. Such amazing work. 
 

I’m looking forward to Excellen with her big old noggin! I think Beat Angel Escalayer is a super cute sculpt. I’ve always wondered if it would be cute with MDD. And someday now we can know!

Yes, KISS dolls! I adored those little pixel dolls as a kid, and all of the Blingee-esque aesthetic it had. And I love making free-to-use pixel art because it's such a fun way to personalize a signature or page. Escalayer and Excellen are both very close in alphabetical order, so you'll be seeing them soon! I personally love Escalayer's little ':D' expression.

Escalayer's head can be very versatile, so I think you'll be pleased to see her as an MDD!

I so want to turn this into an app but I don't know how feasible it would be. I guess it would just need the different bits to be transparent PNGs, then they could be layered.

Well once my other app is in the app store it wouldn't cost me anything to add other apps. It would have to be Android only as the iUniverse is too annoying and expensive for devs these days.

If @PlasticJester consents, why not add it to the app you’re working on now? It would be useful to add to peoples’ doll profiles.
