Cleaning up DD Melty Green Ear?

Hello!
I know "green ear" is a big issue with original, antique (...however much collectors just want to say 'vintage'...) Barbies, due to Mattel using metal earrings and the earrings having a chemical reaction.

I've noticed in a lot of sales photos of Shining Hearts Melty, Volks seems to have used metal earrings for her, too - the back of the earlobe is usually turning green! Left untreated, green ear in barbies can continue to spread, even to - I believe? - other dolls in close enough proximity. 

I was wondering, has anyone treated green ear in dollfies successfully? I imagine a very similar treatment that's used on barbies could probably work (eg, peroxide, acne cream is an option but it never truly leaves the plastic afaik), but I wanted to see if anyone has attempted this before I potentially invest into a Dollfie Melty... she's really cute but there has been a few different models I've been considering (that also have a bust joint, to boot).
