Resilient Posted July 15, 2024 Hi, there's an anime convention taking place in Montréal in the month of august (the Otakuthon) and I'm looking forward to attending and possibly purchasing stuff for my asian dolls. I already have some clothes for them that I don't like and I'm having trouble selling them off. Does anyone think that it might be possible to trade the articles for something of the same value ? Do you think some of them might be open to that ? Thanks for helping me.
Sebby Posted July 16, 2024 I doubt people would be interested in trades at conventions unless there is an actual trade table. As someone who does conventions as a vendor I am there to make money, so I wouldn't quickly trade for stuff. Unless it's like a super grail doll. I think with anime conventions it would be even less than a BJD/doll convention. What I would rather suggest is if you're ever going to a doll convention seeing if they have a bring&buy table. Then it's possible to sell your items while you look around at the convention.
CatGirl Posted July 16, 2024 I would check and see if there will be a BJD meetup or swap meet at the con. Then you could possibly trade or sell those clothes. If there's a local BJD group, you could ask if they plan on meeting up at the con. Or you could wait until the con schedule comes out and then see if there'll be some type of meetup. Resilient Posted July 18, 2024 They do have activities related to asian dolls (the Dollfest) within the anime convention. That's very largely why I'm going. Thanks for answering so open-mindedly, I was worried I'd be publicly lynched for asking for something like that. I'm just a bit irritated of trying to sell off my things. THANK YOU !
