Saluli Posted March 2, 2012 Hello! I am trying to do an custom stand for my girl. I want it to have a tripod-mont, made of acrylic, and interchangeable between thigh stand and saddle stand. I already know how to do the tripod part, but I am not so sure about the thickness and measurements of the acrylic base, and if it should be round ou retangular. If you can share your thoughts and the measurements of your doll stands, I would be grateful. Summon ritual is over. And finally complete.
mitsuki Posted March 2, 2012 Not that I can help much, but is the stand for DDII/DDIII/DDdy (I think similar height for these three)? Or how about DDS or MDD? I suppose you would want the acrylic part to not be too big and not too thick so it is not very heavy.
juu-yuki Posted March 2, 2012 Hello! I am trying to do an custom stand for my girl. I want it to have a tripod-mont, made of acrylic, and interchangeable between thigh stand and saddle stand. If you can share your thoughts and the measurements of your doll stands, I would be grateful. I actually have a square dds stand and a round dd2 stand. I find circle bases more sturdy. My girls tend to fall over more easily on the flat side of the square base. Or it could be because the square base is lighter than the round one. I am not home right now but I can measure them for you when I get back. http://juu-yuki.com Dolly Shop: http://www.lizanna.com
Saluli Posted March 2, 2012 For now it is for DDII. As it will take a LONG time until my Sabers arrive, I am not really worried about fitting DDIII. I suppose that after doing the first one, I will have a idea for what works if I get new girls. Thanks for the help. I find round stands prettier! Summon ritual is over. And finally complete. mitsuki Posted March 2, 2012 I think round stands look really nice too. That is good they are more sturdy. Will you design the stand so you can screw on thigh stand and saddle stand parts? That sounds like a great idea.
Saluli Posted March 2, 2012 Yeah, that is the idea. I can't decide which stand I want, so I will try to cover all the possibilities. Summon ritual is over. And finally complete.
mitsuki Posted March 3, 2012 I think both kinds of stands have advantages and disadvantages so it is good to have both options.
