My new mdd girl!

The head is from Mandarake. I thought the concerned expression was adorable, and the price was great. ...When she arrived, I found out why she was so cheap. Manda mentioned in the notes that she had 'mouth damage'. I, being boo boo the fool, thought this meant that her mouth paint was smudged. No big deal, I have face up supplies, I could just touch it up it myself. Come to find out that her mouth had a literal gash through it :') It looked like someone had considered doing an open mouth mod but stopped half way. Even odder was that she has red clay inside the head at the mouth area, as if a tongue was being added. Wouldn't you do that *after* opening the mouth area?

Either way, I love her dearly but just a heads up that Manda does not always take close photos of damage or explain the extent of it.

I'll post another pic other face without the pacifier some time for anyone curious. The gash doesn't show too bad in pics but it's apparent irl

Anyway, no name yet. I'm thinking of Japanese names to match my other girls.

That seems unfair of mandarake to not further clarify what the damage to her mouth was - that is really weird that it would have clay inside like that too!

She's very cute though, and I like all your little plushies!

what a beautiful faceup though ^^ that's unfortunate about the gash, it doesn't look bad/unappealing to me but maybe it looks worse in person . could turn it into a cool custom/part of her though maybe ^^

Too bad about her mouth gash, especially with how cute her eyes are. It's nice to know that you still like her though! Do you plan to mod her in any way or are you going to keep her like this?

I've found that some mandarake branches are more detailed about the state of an item than others. In the past I've emailed mandarake about a doll with a flaw and it feels like this approach can be a hit or miss too. I had someone who was willing to take more pictures of what I was concerned about but the extra pictures didn't show it well enough either. lol

btw I love the manicured hands you've given her.

No, I don't know anything about modding, so she'll stay as-is. I'll mostly just keep the pacifier on her to cover it up

 

Got her the new Volks Unicorn Princess set

I'm not sure what you mean by manda not disclosing/showing the extent of the damage. I remember seeing this head up for a while and the photos (especially the last one) show the damage. They even have it in the description that "mouth is heavily damaged".

She's cute thought so I hope you'll enjoy her.
