DDH-11 Miku Custom

I've been wanting a Miku Dollfie Dream and a DDH-11 head for a while, but both were a bit too expensive for me to justify getting either with DDH-11 being a D'Coord exclusive and Miku being Miku.

 

A DDH-11 head with a sister body in flesh popped up on Mandarake, which ended up working out to make a custom Miku >.< I had been wanting to move my DDH-03 to a sister body as the normal DD body felt extremely tall for the head, so it seemed like a good chance to swap the body between the new DDH-11 and the DDH-03. I guess it's kind of funny to think that the DDH-03 head is too small for the DD body but then put a DDH-11 head on a DD body considering how small they both are ^^; But I'm happy with how it turned out anyway!

 

I would also feel somewhat conflicted about wiping Volks default makeup for the DDH-11 head since I know it's hard to get, but this one happened to have a totally blank head already. I wonder if the previous owner was trying to make some kind of elf custom - there was sticky residue/glue around the ears that I had to clean off.  The Mandarake listing also listed the head/body as having an odor, but it just smells like a very strong vinyl smell and not smoke or mold like I had worried may be the case.

 

 

I had painted nails and attached them to separate hands ahead of time once I ordered the body.

 

An alternate wig because the pigtails can be unruly/very easy to tangle ^_^;;

 

A close-up of the faceup - I put a little blue pearl powder on the faceup, but I don't think you can really see it in pictures. I might have to trim the bangs on her wigs since her head is so tiny.

 

I ordered other teal eyes on Etsy, but they will take a while to arrive and I'm not sure if they will fit given how small the DDH-11 head is, so we'll see if I end up changing them. Now I just need to look for Vocaloid outfits that don't cost a fortune!

How pretty! I love her subtle teal eyeliner, it really brings all the colors together. Her nails are great too, are they painted acrylic or plastic or something?

Thank you! ^^ The nails are made from human-sized clear acrylic nails that I cut with tiny scissors and filed down. I used UV gel polish to paint them just like you would for the human-sized equivalent. I previously saw a recommendation somewhere to use UV gel nail stickers, but I wasn't able to get those to work well because they were very hard to cut straight and stick to the doll's hands.

I've been meaning to use that exact method for making doll nails, thank you for confirming it works!

Gosh, she looks so sweet... 🥺 That blue eyeliner/shadow really does make all the difference in making the eyes pop

The sweetness of her features and the flowy clothes you have her in go so beautifully together She reminds me of some of my favorite miku art

Thank you both very much >.< Hopefully at some point I can take more pictures of her not just inside haha, but I'm not the best at thinking of creative photography ideas so for now I'm glad I could share this much ^^
