Differences in MDD bodies?

Recommended Posts

bandycam

Hi hi! I didn't really see a thread that helped me find an answer, so I figured I'd just come out and ask it instead!

My roommate really wants to get a MDD, but we're both a bit confused on the differences between the 3 MDD bodies? I'm pretty sure the Mochi-Ashi is not the one he will want, but since neither of us really know much about the bodies to begin with, who actually knows. (Not me, that's for sure!)

Also, since we don't actually own any MDDs (just two DDs and Len), how... weird is a DWC02 head going to look on a MDD body, if anyone knows? He's pretty set on using a MDD body for it (it's a modded head) since he doesn't really want any girl dolls and the MDD is going to be the most "gender neutral/non-fem" body he can find right now. (Ideally he'd like another boy body but... Neither of us are willing to find one at the moment because of the massive price hikes and unlikelihood of actually getting one in general, lol.) Also he's not a huge fan of the one-part torso bodies so any substitute parts we could find online aren't something he wants.

Hence, a MDD body. (Right now only one of them is in stock in the color he has, but he's willing to wait once he knows what body to get.)

Any help would be super appreciated! <33

What are you counting as the three bodies? Currently there is the F3 2.0 as the new standard, and the Mochi-Ashi (which is yet to reach 2.0 in stores, but is now available in Dream Choice), but the Integrated Asexual one piece is only available in Dream Choice so not usually considered in the running as an easy buy.  You can buy older generation bodies, but I only have experience with the F3 and F3 2.0. [EDIT: I just checked and realized the regular F3 bodies are in stock in flesh which is probably what you mean, i thought they had all sold out, my bad haha]

The changes over time have been both aesthetic and function, with the 2.0 as the newest having the most flexibility.  I was able to pop a 2.0 chest frame in my first gen F3 body and cut a notch in the back of the neck, which gave me the same range of head motion as the newest model, and a smidge more torso movement (but it doesn't have the same improvement as the newest 2.0 body).  Other than the Mochi-Ashi legs, the only real visual difference readily available in shop are the bust sizes.

The regular S bust looks plenty neutral when clothed, but it does look very slightly prepubescent-breast in the nude - it shouldn't be a huge issue if you aren't planning to have the doll topless or you don't mind a slightly feminine-androgyne lean.  But for the most part, when my crew is dressed up you can't even tell there's a hint of boob unless the clothing article is skin tight.

Aftermarket options are the Kakuso torsos (not 2.0 compatible yet), and the Cohullen-Druith busts (2.0 compatible, but 3d printed so they're stiff and you lose flexibility).  Both are available on Booth and show up on aftermarket sites often enough imo.  I've have the Cohullen-Druith chest and visually it does give a more definitive "boy" look on top if you don't mind sacrificing the feel and movement range.  I have a Kakuso chest on the way to try, but the only technical issues I've read with them is the sizing is just an eeeensy bit more and makes some pieces tighter to fit, and the piece looks more gappy on the torso.

If he doesn’t want a feminine body and doesn’t like unitorsos, then his only choice really is the standard MDD body, ideally the old f3.

Mochi Ashi 2.0 comes with a busty chest and the Integrated Asexual Body comes with a unitorso (and is Dream Choice exclusive, as mentioned above).

The new MDD 2.0 body has been changed to look more feminine, so an old f3 body + Kakuso torso is his best bet, but a normal 2.0 body can still work somewhat if he can’t find an old one since the feminine silhouette can be hidden to some degree with clothes.

If the only reason he wants the MDD is to make a boy - I do think DD or DDS with SS bust can work for androgyny, especially if the clothes aren’t tight. I’ve had boys that are SS bust DDs and it’s pretty easy for me to see them as boys. (I also have both Rin and Len and there have been times I wanted to swap their outfits and all I did was swap their heads and no one could tell which had the boy body and which had the DDS SS bust body) To be honest the SS DD and DDS busts have even less breast definition than the default MDDf3 (and previous versions) does IMO, although that’s also something that has never bothered me.
Everyone’s got their own opinions on what heads work or don’t work on MDD so that part is truly up to the individual, but I personally am in the camp that thinks DWC2 would look kinda awkward. Edit: I was gonna say ‘maybe if it was modded’ and then noticed you said it’s a modded head. It would depend on the mod I think but the overall shape of the head still seems too mature and ‘long’ to me to not look off on the MDD.

The waist on the Kakuso torso is less girly and a bit thicker, meaning tight clothes won't fit there. It shouldn't matter much unless you intend to make your boy wear a corset or similar.

I remember reading in the forum that someone got a MDD 2.0 and Kakuso torso and managed to make them fit together well with some very slight modding of the leg holes. Which has convinced me to try the same, the body being on the way currently. So if your friend is up to some modding that might be an option as well.

Or maybe just switching the chest piece? That is actually something that I will probably try out before changing the whole torso, because I like my boys with a little bit of lower body curve and the ... "equipment" down there doesn't really matter to me when it comes to dolls.

Doesn’t Volks make an MDD sized body with an androgynous unitorso?

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

The "equipment" on the Kakuso torso is very unimpressive and shrunk down. Actually, now that I think of it, I think it's essentially "neutered" because two essential bits are missing🤣. Unless your doll is naked, it won't be visible much, even if they wear only a speedo.

For those that want other "poses" for the appendage, I think there are third-party parts that fix that...came across a Booth shop that offered them (I didn't look beyond the "18+" cover image).

Yes, it’s called the Integrated Asexual Type body and it was mentioned above, but OP’s friend doesn’t want a unitorso.

I think it is still hilarious that the Kakuso "equipment" is still more pronounced than the DD boys, poor guys are really skinny in truly every regard.

Pretty sure the point of the “bits” on DD boys and girls are meant to make the clothes look correct. If you want anatomically correct, you have to look someplace other than Volks.
