Dollfie Dream Sakura Miku 2.0

General question if any sakura miku havers know

since sakura miku's pleather pieces are a lighter color, are they prone to more discoloration/glue yellowing like snow miku is? or is it generally ok and just prone to the usual flaking apart instead. need to know before i consider trying to get her ><

praying she has a nice and long pre-order period, though it seems a bit less likely with how close spring is already without an update...?

From what I've seen (and heard from other people who have her), Sakura's outfit does deteriorate in similar ways to her other variants. SM's boots are the worst offenders from what I have witnessed firsthand though. I've owned 2 of Sakura's default outfits, one unused and one used. The unused one still looks great, but the one that have been used deteriorated a lot. With the boots, the area on the back near the zipper along with the front seam line down the boot discolored into a dark yellow-brown color. It looks almost like a grease stain. The pleather also 'peeled' similar to OG Miku's black boots, same almost 'sticky' feeling too. The arm covers still looked good, not sure if they are the same material as the boots but they held up well. I will mention that I haven't seen the pink pleather discolor like Snow's pleather does, the pink kept its color overtime. And as always, the skirts side belt started peeling apart. So... pretty standard Miku outfit deterioration stuff lol. I do cross my fingers that her outfit will be improved upon with this reboot, even if I don't keep my dolls in their default outfits at all nowadays. Sakura is so pretty in hers.

Thank you this has been extremely informative! It's such a shame that it deteriorates like that, pretty discouraging for having one. If I manage to snag her I'll probably keep a look out for similarly colored pink fabric to make a shoes + thigh high socks combo instead of using the original boots in that case. That is the original design intent of miku after all, but the boots mistake has been so common that it made its way onto most official merch www.

For them fixing stuff with the reboot: I have my fingers crossed too but from the sounds of it they didn't change anything in that regard for the snow miku reboot, so...

That said about getting her. If she's meant for spring 2025 it seems too late for a pre-order period at this point doesn't it? Hopefully it won't be a total hellscape or lottery system : (

I would say they have made improvements to reissued dolls. Uzuki V2's school uniform set was made from much better materials than V1. I think they do listen to feedback, and their production capabilities seem to have increased over time too. 

I've been saving and was planning on buying my first DD this year, I can't believe there's a possibility of it being sakura miku! When doing research I figured she'd always be out of my budget at the current aftermarket prices.

so true! i missed out on NT and i am not waiting on another opportunity to get her for a decent price down the line...

though, let's hope sakura miku has a regular pre-order and not a lottery system!

Hoping for open pre-order for her, she's absolutely gorgeous! Wonder when we will hear more news as there wasn't much learned like was anticipated in December.

I'm torn between going for Sakura and holding out until we confirm who the 20th anniversary non-DD-body re-release is going to be. If she's a lottery, maybe they'll announce both at the same time. I'm hoping for a pre-order too, though, since Miku seems to be the one doll that refuses to come down in price secondhand when she's re-released.

OMG!! So preorders will start on May 10th online? is this preorder limited/raffle? I didn't see anything about limited stock.

It will be open preorder, made to order, method. So as long as you order her during the order period you will get her. Same goes for the outfit!

Welp, now im really conflicted whether I want another miku (I have snow miku) or to keep saving for 2B secondhand

Assuming you aren't someone who simply wants to collect all Miku's at some point.

I have NT and don't really want multiple of the same Sculpt atm  , so I justify Sakura to myself because she has a different skintone. that's a big enough different to the other miku's, right? 😅

Thats what im torn on, her skintone gives her a different vibe. But I also really want to buy a secondhand 2b and i can't get both.

Personally I would go with Sakura Miku because this is your chance to get her for retail price. She was (still is?) going for around 250,000 yen and will probably still cost a small fortune after the reboot, if the other recently (re-)released Vocaloids are anything to go by. 2B’s aftermarket price is more likely to stay stable than Sakura Miku’s, so if you miss this chance and regret it later, you’re really going to be out of luck.

The "right thing" to say is get the one you know you'd really regret not getting in the future. Especially if you don't really know how you'd budget for both rn (Plus whoever aligns better with your personal interests, goal for you collection etc.)

Finding 2B for a decent price isn't impossible outside of waiting for her to show up/knowing where to look. Getting her in the future wont be too difficult.

We all know what the secondmarket looks like for Sakura.

If anything, you could order Sakura just so you don't miss it. Then see how you feel in a few months. Selling Sakura to recoup funds for 2B won't be an issue.

Waiting for a Luka reboot/2.0 next tho, I was hoping for an announcement last Magical Mirai for her 15th anniversary, but we got Sakura Miku instead (not that I'm complaining)

I'm praying for luka 2.0. She ticks all the boxes for a Doll they'd likely re-release, but no news 😭

She's gorgeous. Though I have to admit, I'm suffering a bit from Miku fatigue at this point. I'm really hoping for some new characters or models in future releases.
