Absolutely not, I will be so upset if they change her faceup! I’ve been waiting forever for this re-release specifically because I wanted her exactly as she was when she first released.

I do think her (and Snow Miku’s)faceup was plenty cute already, and different enough to OG Miku to not be in as much a need of an update. I’m just wondering why they want to exhibit her so early if she looks exactly the same, unless it’s just to drum up excitement, or for the benefit of people who hadn’t joined the hobby yet when the first Sakura Miku came out so might not have seen her before.

I actually don’t think I’ve ever heard of a doll being exhibited at Dolpa that was actually for the next Dolpa, so it’s a bit weird. (Unless she isn’t a Dolpa release - ie having a separate online order period early in the year and just releasing in spring…? Some of the Disney girls like the Frozen girls were exhibited at Dolpa whilst having releases separate to Dolpa after all. And the Rin/Len reboot was also separate from Dolpa releases, so it wouldn’t be unheard of.)

It was kind of weird that she was one of the harder dolls to get your hands on when Hatsune & Snow Miku were treated more like a gateway drug luring people into the hobby.

From the venue pics of her exhibition at Dolpa today, it looks like the same faceup to me, and I saw others commenting it definitely seems like the only difference is the new body.

Just Dolpa53 date (April 20th) and Next Hometown Dolpa location (Osaka).

They reiterated in the comments of this instagram post that she will be released Spring 2025, so I would imagine she'll be part of the next Dolpa.

I don't know why they brought a display Sakura Miku to Dolpa then didn't announce anything.

This is almost as big a mystery as where all the plush snakes have gone.

The post itself doesn’t say anything about the release date, and the comment saying “Spring 2025” appears to be from a random IG account, so we still don’t have an official announcement.

They said she would be spring 2025 when the rerelease was first announced. https://x.com/volks_dd/status/1824605310603960477

I just automatically assumed that meant spring Dolpa, but thinking of the Rin/Len reboot preorder she could be released outside of it too (you never really know with the vocaloids)

It seems like they were distributing postcards with QR codes, but those just went to her website.

Obviously I meant that they didn’t clarify anything—if she would in fact be the next Dolpa release, the sales method, when they would begin taking orders, when we could expect to receive her, etc. We got nothing.

When they initially made the announcement about a spring release, I’d hoped she would actually release in spring like she did back in 2019, not that they’d only be taking preorders or run the clickwar/lottery then…

Were the plush snakes just incredibly popular?
I have a pending order with two of them in it that hasn't shipped yet - I ordered as soon as they became available but I know they were still in stock the next day but sold out pretty quickly.

What I'm wondering is why so many of the outfits are being delayed and won't be available at the after event?

Seems like it. We had a Zoom meeting the day after they released, and when we had a look at the site they were all sold out. I know Doll Point got another batch in, but when I went a few days later they were all sold out again. They haven’t surfaced on any auction sites yet, so it doesn’t seem like they’re being scalped either.

Personally, I thought this Dolpa was a disorganized mess. I’m guessing they’re having issues with their suppliers, but there’s no way they didn’t know just how popular all the BTSSB stuff would be (the pre-sale guidebooks sold out three times!) and yet they brought less than 300 of them to the venue to sell (Maacha and Yumepi were sold out before Group B even got into the building, and by the time I got into Sumika I couldn’t even preorder them anymore).

Between the insufficient stock, the lack of any updates about upcoming dolls or events, and running out of snacks at the end, it really seemed like they weren’t prepared this time (similar to last year’s year-end Dolpa when Miku NT released). Idk if the other outfits got delayed because they needed all hands on deck for the BTSSB stuff or if they just couldn’t get the supplies in time to be ready for this and the after event.

Two weeks ago we have speculated a bit about this in the Zoom meetup: Since they were selling out of the pre-sale guidebooks multiple times, they likely repurposed items that were originally intended for the after event to bolster the stock available at Dolpa to cope with "anticipated demand". Even though it ended up just being a drop in the ocean...

I was long gone by then, but @Tierparkzone was devastated.

They had to know BTSSB was going to be a huge deal, but likely didn't anticipate how huge a deal. I was even explaining to the gf last night (a newbie to the community and lolita know-nothing-abouter who got a whole yap session about the history of Super Dollfie) how huge this collab was for a lot of people. I didn't realize the new stuff was like....limited in any way on the site and thought it would eventually be on the international site, and I kinda wanted a plushie snake too. Oops.

Yumepi is the first Super Dollfie I've really really loved as a fullset release just based on looks as someone not in the lolita scene, and I kinda wanted to try and get her, but it seems like a clickwar or lottery is gonna be intense. Anyone have any advice?

I'm not hugely into SD but I really wanted SDGr Mytyl when Volks announced her re-release. The whole bluebird thing means a lot to me as it's related to one of my earliest memories.

Mytyl was a lottery, which I lost. I've never had any success with a clickwar. The Volks website doesn't often work properly on a normal day, so I don't bother anymore.

A year later Mytyl popped up on Mandarake, so I bought her (for much more than the lottery price). A small consolation is that I found her cape and birdcage set on YJA. It was a really good price too - not much more than the original retail price.

I've seen a couple of others so they do pop up from time to time.

It’s not their first time doing a collab with BTSSB so there’s really no excuse imo. BTSSB has got to be one of the most popular lolita clothing brands, there’s zero chance they were clueless about what a bloodbath this was going to be.

Lottery won’t be intense, they usually have that open for a specified period, but clickwar will. Make sure you’re logged in with your card on file, have the page up before it starts, refresh like crazy and pray.

She’s already on YJA if you want to feed the scalpers and don’t mind paying double. I hate to say it, but this is probably the cheapest she’ll be, because all the people paying scalper prices now will try to resell her for even more once they’re ready to let her go in the future.

Sakura Miku my beloved... I still regret not pre-ordering her a few years on Volks USA... But there's no way I can save up fast enough for spring 2025 so I will just have to ask you guys to post beautiful pics for me to look at instead!

GOOD LORD. Her head alone is going for 79,000 yen. No, no, no. I will never judge people for how much money they're willing to spend on a doll (well maybe a little bit) but that is just crazy, especially for a doll that is not like, LE100 or something like that. I could buy like 2 and 1/2 Hewitts for that price. Or like. Food or something.

Hopefully she'll be like Kaito or Anya and they'll hold the reservations open for a long time. I'm tempted but only if they give her an outfit that won't fall apart.

Ironically both Kaito and Anya are highly sought after now, especially Kaito.

By contrast I don't think Takina and Chisato are proving that popular, so they'll probably not sell out in the Volks clickwar. With hindsight I probably jumped the gun a bit this time, but FOMO lol.
