Kanime Posted September 4 Finally got off my lazy butt and do proper photo thread for the dolls in our house, yay! Though, most photos that I'm gonna past here are gonna be my gf (I call her Ebi)'s since she's a better photographer than me (so proud). I also got permission from Ebi to share these. Decided to post here because hers is an Imomodoll while mine is a DDP. Hopefully this is OK? Anyways, here they are! Ignore the ugly background I already introduced Kanna previously, so now I wanna talk about gf's doll, Yuu! He's an Imomodoll Boy; no idea about the skin tone, but it looks close enough to Volks' Semi-white, I think? He's a hybrid with a ZaZ head. Ebi also did the face up, eye making, and wig styling for him by herself! I really like how it looks. Like Kanna, he's supposedly based off of an OC that my gf created, but the younger version since she wanted a "bite-size" doll. Below the spoiler cut is Ebi's drawing of the intended doll version: Spoiler Ā smol....so cute.... I love gf's art....... Ā And this is a drawing of Yuu's "canon" version that I did some time ago: Spoiler Ā It's a bday art for my gf hehe Ā Canonically he's like a year older than Kanna, and next year I do plan to get a Dream Choice of a DDB for his canon appearance (my gf groans at the idea of me shelling $$$ for an OC that isn't even mine, but--I LOVE him and I Will take him home). But for now, this I'm gonna dote on this Imomo version of him who isĀ like a younger boy next door. Here are some more indoor photos of him (ft. my petticoat as a makeshift prop LMAO). Took it last month, and we've since took them for some other photo sessions; I'll share more later after I do some resizing, these photos are huuuge. Also, we have some 1/12 size dolls in our house so I'll be taking this opportunity to introduce them too: this is a Piccodo10 version of Yuu! He's supposed to be the canon version š Per gf's word, his glasses are a huge pain but we both loooove them. I love him and his å°ćé” faceplate. And this is Kanta, showing off his new shoes that arrived just in time for Pride this year! He's using a Nendoroid Doll Boy body here, but I sometimes swap with some other bodies depending on my mood. Story time: Kanta was created as an OC for a (very loose) RP group a decade++ ago. Few years later, a friend got a brilliant idea to create our OCs' genderbent version for fun--and so Kanna was born! It was supposed to be a one-off thing, but somehow I got attached to the idea of Kanna, so now she's her own character that exists on a separate universe xD So they're not really twins. Veeeery old art I did of both Kanta (and the many AU version of him) and Kanna together under cut: Spoiler Ā One day I will redraw this...but today is not that day. Ā And and this is Kanta's brother, Satoshi, who is using a YmY11 v2 body to pose for some kind of otome game CG: Some doodles of him under the cut: Spoiler Ā āthat's Javanese for "watch your mouth" lol Ā Nothing much to say except probably in my small circle of friends, he's like my most popular OC for some reason. I'll never know why. That's about it. I think that's all about the crew that I will post the photos of here; though I'll probably post the bigger dolls more than the other. I have a few other nendolls, but I don't play with them as much orz ...this got super rambly, so sorry >< but thank you for bearing with me! I'll probably post some past photos here and there as well.

Ayrell Posted September 6 Ooh, I really enjoyed looking at your girlfriend's dolls and your art and reading about their backgrounds! I'm also a fan of smaller dolls. Me and my boyfriend also have several OCs and he'd love for me to shell any of them into a doll, but I prefer my dolls to become characters and not the other way around. I also checked Kanna's thread, she's so lovely and fun looking! It's really impressive that these are your first customizations. Hope you'll both continue sharing!

Sorry for the late reply but you're so nice omg thank you so much!! Oh yeah, I've definitely seen others who prefer their dolls (or characters made from games with customization) becoming their own character--I'd like to one day do that too. Going ham with a new design for a doll sounds really fun! Unfortunately rn I'm wayyy too attached to our OCs... But fortunately our OCs are generic enough to not need that much customization LOL I hope when you make a doll of your OCs one day you'd share with us : D I love seeing everyone's OCs!
Kanime Posted September 12 Fashionably late, but otsukare Doll Show 73! Had a meetup with some of forum folks who are all very kind people; here is the thread of the group photos! Everyone's dolls are so pretty... I would've show off some of my Doll Show 73 haul here but I bought too many things (orz) and I'm def not gonna try them all at once, so... One step at a time! As usual, my gf took these photos First one: a dress made by Mujia Sasato! And I told myself NO dresses, only buy casual clothes... I've been eyeing this dress since forever cause I really like its shape, but I always put off buying it because 1) Not sure how it'll look on DDP and 2) I never really vibe with any of the available colors... Until I saw the event-only color. I really, really like how the light blue one looks and so it was an instant buy from me. The brown ribbon also goes very well with Volks' shoes; I'm really loving this set and I can also pretend this is an AU where Kanna is one of those rich ojousama lol. Oh yeah, the torso and the portable chair are also bought from the event; it's made by Hirumeshi Koubou. They's made for MDD so Kanna's legs are a bit too long to properly sit, but it doesn't look too weird for me imo. And I should've bought more of the torso, they made such a great prop. Most of the things I bought off the events are props/small items instead of outfits, and I kinda wanna put them in specific situations to properly show them off, so that'd have to wait till next time; or when I get off my lazy butt. Also, if you noticed her eyes look a bit different than what she had on the last photo... You'd be correct! I made a new set of eyes (using the same eye drawing) for her using resin and a couple glass cabochon, so they kinda have that "follow you" gaze. I'm still deciding which one I like better between this one or the previous decal one, so maybe you'll see me swapping around sometimes haha.
Ayrell Posted September 16 (edited) What a lovely dress! Kanna looks gorgeous on it, she definitely fits the tip of a rich ojousama, haha! You are right about the colour of the ribbon and the shoes, and you got some great props too! š Edited September 16 by Ayrell

RozenGermain Posted September 17 Ebi making a shota version of her OC for her Imomodoll was a good idea! I wanted a 1/4 scale doll for my OC too, and I just made him how he looked normally on an MDD, and it resulted in him looking more shota than he actually looks canonically (he's an ikemen in canon), so I basically resigned myself to treating the dude like a chibi version of him! š

The imomodoll was supposed to be a "test" project of sorts, but he grew on us and lo and behold, oneshota dolls!š And ooohh I'm interested in your OC! Which one of your dolls is he? Lucifer?? Treating canonically ikemen characters like a baby is so much more fun than I thought LOL
Kanime Posted October 6 Throwback time! I meant to post this last month, but I got too lazy OTL Photos are by Ebi as usual! Sometime last month Ebi and I went to Kakaplanet to shop some things. We both bought some sets of outfit, and a couple other things. You get to use their photo booths for free for 30 mins if you make a purchase, so we did a quick photo session. Sooo cute (č¦Ŗćć«) Their booth setups are really nice too, really want to get one of those studio flash if only I have a bigger room... It was sooo dang hot so we decided to chill at a doll cafe in the area. It's got a pretty standard limitation of 90 mins/group. The cafĆ© staffs are so nice and we chatted for a bit; they also explained that every prop they have here can be borrowed for photoshoots, so we borrowed a mini tea set. We also had the honor to get introduced to the resident Teddy Bear that sat with us, and their name is Death Emperor. So this photo is now titled "Tea Time with Death Emperorš". There's another Teddy in the other table, but their name kinda slipped past me now. I think it's King Kaiser?? Anywho, Ebi changed Yuu's outfit to the one she just bought; it looks great on him!! And we're just so glad the boots we previously got from Parabox fit the Imomodoll. Here's CafĆ© waiter Yuu! (& Kanna as a customer lol) Oh yeah, we also got some tea and french toast. They're pretty pricey, but allll those collab cafes have desensitized me from it so I feel like it's just normal price... I usually spend at least 5x because dem collab cafĆ© goods. Speaking of collab cafes, there's a Yugioh GX collab cafe ongoing rn that I have yet to reserve aaagh One last shot ft. Nendoll version of Yuu & Kanta! Didn't get to use the paid photo studio on the 2nd floor, but I feel like the cafĆ© itself already makes a great place for some quick shots. Really like the atmosphere and I'll be going back some other time. Went back home and immediately tried on the set outfit I bought. It's yet again a dress made by Mujia Sasato. I love, looove the top, the ribbon obi and all the hairclips; though I'm not sure if I like the skirt in itself. I bought a hakama skirt from the last event as well, maybe I'll try this with that one some other time. Changed the eyes to the previous decal one for fun. As always, I'm still undecided which one I like better. I wonder if I can make one that looks like Volks' animetic eyes, with the white sphere shell (?) and transparent core... Need to do more resin experiment. If anybody here knows a way to uhh make those spherical eyes (for the ease of changing position) lemme know!
PlasticJester Posted October 6 Wonderful photos as always! I especially like the one with Death Emperor, wonderful name for a teddy. And Yuu's new outfit is super cute! I'm so jealous you can just go to doll stores and doll cafes, I'm living my worst American Midwestern life, lol

We've kinda been eyeing that outfit since couple months back, but hold it off cuz budget :CĀ but thankfully (??) it doesn't seem to be so popular so we managed to get it a while after it went to sale LOL And yeah, I'm SO grateful I only got into dolls after I moved here... But my wallet begs to differ O)--< Here I thought doll scene is huge in the US; but I guess it depends on where you live? Sorry about that though;; I hope you'll get the chance to visit Akiba someday!
PlasticJester Posted October 7 Most doll things in the US are fashion doll-based and thus mostly mature mini 1/6 scale. Stuff like Barbie, Monster High, and Rainbow high, with some designer brands like Tonner targeted towards adult collectors. They're nice, but don't hit the same itch.
Kanime Posted November 2 Fashionably late, but Happy Halloween!! Long time no post, between running into uhhHHH stressful family problems and having to juggle between work and school now, I haven't gotten much time to play with the blorbos--but now that it's kinda calmed down, last week we managed to squeeze in some time for a (spoopy?) photo session or two. So the doll cafĆ© I talked about? I went to its 2nd floor which serves as a doll photo studio! Now that I think about it, I remember this studio/cafĆ© being advertised in one of Azone's pamphlets I got from their store--so I guess they're like official partners or something? (CMIIW) Anyway they've got like... 6? 7? Dioramas in total, of which about half of them are for bigger dolls, and the other half for smaller ones. When we got there, there's already another person but their dolls are one of the smaller ones (they've got a couple of those Sugar Cups babies and they're soooo cuuuteee), so no double booking on the booths thankfully. Here are some more of the photos! As always, Ebi took these--and this time I tried my hands on editing them, but quickly realized that Clip Studio Paint probably isn't the best for this kind of stuff (Ebi: "Told you so"), so I proceeded to download Snapseed to my phone and just edited them there... "Oh, a human traveler! Would you fancy a pumpkin?" 90 minutes went by SO fast--we only managed to change outfit once to shoot at a different booth. Place is pretty cramped though--even with only 4 people there, so I hope they'd consider having a place where we can store our belongings... We actually also took photos of our 1/6 obitsu/piccodo on another booth, but I haven't edited them yet so...some other time! As we went home, I got an idea for another shot (I berated myself for not coming up with it earlier) but Ebi generously set up an indoor booth so I can get this shot: "The townspeople will get wary of you; use this." (š¦š¦Happy crabby noisesš¦š¦) And since we've already set up a booth anyway, we took photos of our nendolls as well! I've been buying them propsĀ sporadically (shoutout to my homie 100yen store Seria) and seeing them all assembled is so satisfying for some reason. That's all for now; I'm just glad my blorbos got to have their very first Halloween :"D Oh also also! I got some really nice design paper set from Daiso that may or may not work as (yet another) prop--some indoor photo session will be in order!
PlasticJester Posted November 2 These outfits are all so cute, you guys have a great sense for posing too! Happy late Halloween! If you ever figure out how to photo edit in CSP, please tell me, I just bought the program recently (for drawing) and I am so lost.
Kanime Posted November 3 @PlasticJesterĀ Thank you so much!! And honestly I just...abuse the blur/blend tool and hope for the best (you can kinda see random blurry parts where I erased the stands LOL), it's verrryy time consuming too 0/10 would not recommend. I did some googling and apparently some people rec'd an app called "TouchReTouch" (what a name) to auto-erase stands/unwanted objects, but I have yet to test it out yet--I'll report back as soon as I do! Kanime Posted November 11 I got some of Misdoās pokemon collab donuts todayš©š© unfortunately the Pikachu one is sold out for the day, but I managed to grabĀ 2 of the Digletts, so itās a win for me! Ebifurai no Shippo is there cuz theyāre also a Misdo collab goods from a few months agoš¤ Kanna gets a butter biscuitĀ instead of donuts bc I have yet to have a donut her size sadly :ā(
Kanime Posted Tuesday at 04:54 PM Last weekend we brought Kanna and Yuu to karaoke! They're in their autumn fit now. Excuse the phone pics: Should've brought the mic I got from last event smh my brain wasn't braining š We got out at morning, then we went to Yokohama because I was craving some Tantanmen at this specific store. Since we were already there anyway I visited the Sumika shop to grab some things (I wanted the white hoodie hehe) and apparently they were holding a group photo session :0 Coincidentally, the theme was "Autumn Fit" so Kanna was more than happy to be included. (Yuu got to sit this one out though, obv ( Ā )) Everyone was so kind!! I resolved to make a Twitter account after this just so I can get in touch with the others the next time we meetĀ š As of this writing I have yet to make one tho eep. Also everyone's dolls are gorgeous I kinda feel embarrassed orz (then again... we all just went back from an allnight karaoke session, Kanna included.)Ā I didn't bring out my Asachanchi stand (I finally managed to nab one!! Been wanting it since I saw Tierparkzone's stand before; they're real nice and a gamechanger), just cuz I thought non-Volks stands aren't allowed there but apparently it wasn't the case in this particular time since I noticed later that someone is using it? Anyway that's whyĀ Kanna gets to sit on the fancy sofa with a gorgeous SD lady and Heero Yui. She looks quite comfy there. It was fun! Next Sumika Yokohama photo session is on December 22 IIRC. The theme is gonna be å¬ć®ćåŗććć³ć¼ć so I'm looking forward to it too! As we were about to go home, something caught our eyes........ .....so we got ourselves a Tokage Nendoroid. Welcome, Tokage (and Nisetsumuri)!! I hope GSC make the other Sumikkos too....
