Hello there!

Hi! My name is Kannazuki, I'm 28 and I've recently bought my first doll (a pre-owned Azone Lil' Fairy Vel) after thinking about it for months! When I was younger I loved Rozen Maiden, I watched the anime and eventually read all the manga too.

I kinda forgot about it until basically like August this year, when I started being more active on Twitter and I started getting recommended posts from Japanese users taking the most gorgeous photos of their dolls, and it planted the seed of the idea of having my own doll.

I started researching (I lurked this forum and /r/BJD a lot), and I initially wanted to make a doll out of my OC, but it was going to be too expensive so I instead started looking at full dolls, but none interested me (and fit in my limited budget) until I happened to find my Vel in AmiAmi. I had to wait a few days until I could buy her because I was moving, and because she was pre-owned I know they only had one, so I spent a whole week refreshing the page to make sure I wouldn't miss her until I finally bought her!

She arrived really quickly from Japan (I live in Europe, I thought she was going to arrive after my birthday but she managed to get here a few days before) and I've been smitten with her these last few days! I've been taking a few pictures of her in my desk, and I want to take her around the city to take some more photos but that will have to wait until a new camera battery charger arrives from China.

The other thing with dolls is that I now actually have an excuse to do sewing! I used to do it when I was younger, my great-aunt used to work as a seamstress and she taught me to sew by hand and also with her (ancient) Singer sewing machine. I have since inherited her sewing machine but it's been gathering dust back in my mom's house, but I now have a million ideas of cute clothes that I want to make for Vel! (especially because the maid dress she comes with makes it a pain in the ass to get her to sit properly)

Besides dolls, I love simulation games and Genshin Impact, drawing, and keeping up with tech in general!

Thank you! I was worried before she arrived that I would have to deal with stains or loose joints because of her age and being pre-owned, but thankfully she's perfect!

Welcome to the forum. There's a few maids here... they had to get second jobs so we can afford more doll stuff.
