Lycoris Recoil Nishikigi Chisato & Inoue Takina

I'm on team "never heard of this anime before", but I think they're both super cute?? I don't have a properly planned out collection, though. I just buy the dolls I think are cute.

Anyway, it looks like they posted them up on Insta yesterday. I looked into their individual shop pages, and preorders start on January 18th. I also looked up the anime and apparently there's gay undertones between Chisato and Takina?? Tbh that sells me immediately.

Will my family kill me if I drop like $900 on two dolls? Absolutely.... but I get to have two very cute new dolls to maybe give me a reason to buy one of those nice glass display cases.

Since discovering DDs, I've wanted one with a huge head to emulate anime girl proportions. Chisato is so tempting to customise but I don't have funds. Hopefully 2nd hand prices are kind to me

I'm actually warming up to Takina a lot more with every photo I see of her. Something about her little ._. face appeals to me.

My pair are still at Tokyo airport (not sure which one) awaiting the next flight to the UK.

Maybe the second series of the anime will arrive first.

Takina in the above photo looks kind of like the older gen DD, particularly Erica Fontaine. I'll compare them if Takina ever arrives.

The anime is worth a look... it's kind of John Wick meets slice of life. The slice of life stuff is better. There are just so many iconic scenes, such as at the aquarium.

I never found out why some of the girls have red uniforms and the others are blue.

If anyone else wants the pair they're quite common on YJA. I suspect they might not sell out after the clickwar. Chisato (red) is slightly more popular. I suspect they'll do well in the longer term as it's such a cult show.

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. I've never ordered a limited DD off the JP site, but this time I want to try my luck for Chisato!

I just want to ask if debit cards are an acceptable payment option, or is it only limited to credit. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I want to do everything right entering the click-war.

Also how long does it usually take for the dolls to be delivered after placing an order?

The only way I know for sure to test if your card works is to buy something from their website. Some credit cards run into issues because they use card verification security methods.

I had that with my card (verification would continuously fail), but then I remembered that when I ordered from Volks a long time ago I had the same problems...until I removed my zip code from the special zip code field and simply added it to the general address field. Which solved my issue this time too. Something seems broken in Volks' checkout procedure when it comes to credit card verification and certain foreign addresses.

Some cards won't work though, he card company needs to be a part of the verification network. 

I finally got my Chisato and Takina today! I noticed the black socks like to shed a lot on the inside and stick to the bodysuits. 

💳 On the subject of Credit Cards... I use my Visa Debit Card with Volks and Mandarake. I also have a Credit Card but it doesn't seem to work online for higher value purchases.

Takina arrived today and swiftly dealt with the imposter Takina 😁.

Initial impressions: I have many DD but she definitely has a unique look. She resembles Erica Fontaine a little although Erica has a larger mouth.

Her accessories are great. The satchel is very cool. I put her in a bodysuit for now as I'm not sure about the socks. Kazuha has been Empty Miku for over a year now though and her (single) sock hasn't stained.

I did take care with fitting a wig cap on her as that wig has stain monster written all over it.

The outfit is really nice although it's a shame the buckles are plastic and not metal like the Cherry Milk boutique version that Shin Sato is wearing in the second photo below. It is good they gave her boy shorts so she stays true to the anime.

After Christmas we'll buy more guns so she can have some to store in her satchel.

They are on the new bodytype btw.

Chisato is still in transit.

That's interesting, I will definitely keep this in mind!

I am leaning towards using a debit card for personal reasons, so this is reassuring to hear about! Also, your Takina looks very cute, wish I could afford both Chisato and Takina 😢

I have only ever used a Visa debit card with Volks with no issue.

Volks also just made a tweet about how these two are going to ship in early February.

Chisato arrived safely. I like to think Volks listened to me when I voted for them in the new doll poll a while back.

Fun fact: they have different guns. Also Chisato's satchel was colour coded. I don't know if there are any differences.

Takina knows she's my favourite. I have the Lycoris Recoil art book and Volks have done an excellent job of capturing her pouty expression.

I don't know if I'm keen on Chisato's wig but it's a thousand times better than the Pureneemo Chisato's wig 😁. I think the fringe needs a bit of work. Chisato has the better gun though.

Chisato also has a necklace but she doesn't wear it in the Volks photos. I can't remember the significance of it - we'll have to rewatch it.

I'm hoping the socks won't stain but they're both likely to always wear their Lycoris outfits.

I'm having a really, REALLY hard time deciding on these two. I've never watched the show... but they look so adorable.

Probably going to end up as a coin flip when sales go live.

I believe Chisato is more popular, but that might mean Takina will end up rarer. Rem is the more popular wifu but it's DDS Ram who is more difficult to find.

Takina is my favourite as I loved her character in the show. Chisato is pretty epic irl. They're a fantastic pair. I think they will do well in the longer term.

Cafe outfits secured. I thought they might turn into grails but oddly they were both on YJA when I looked just before Christmas. Fortunately nobody else bid on them. Takina might need a different wig or some hairpieces but otherwise they're good to go now.

If anybody else wants the outfits they do pop up from time to time. They're by Cherry Milk. They did also release their going out outfits (as featured in the aquarium scene) but Volks have also released these.
