Replacing Tomoe Mami's internal skeleton??

Recommended Posts

Dollixir

Hi friends,

I was extremely lucky and was able to order a Tomoe Mami from Japan and she is a dream EXCEPT she arrived with a shattered spine and shoulder sockets : (

It was too much of a hassle to return her and she's perfect otherwise so I thought I could just get her a new body? (just replacing the internals probably by buying a full 1/3 azone doll second hand) BUT I'm confused about what size she needs between 48 or 50 cm obitsu bodies? The other Madoka girls use either the 48 or 50 cm from my research but her listing on hobby search says "- Body: 50cm/AZO2 body ※ G bust Sculpted Obitsu: Oniyama Naotake (hyperspace) ※ Obitsu 50cm use only the lower leg" <- this part specifically confuses me

Does anyone have more info that could help me pick which body she needs for replacement parts?

thank you <3

The info is correct. She is a hybrid doll using the AZ02 body and the Ob50 lower leg. Your issue with the lower leg will probably be boot fit, but you already have a pair of good legs so you could get an AZ02 and swap out the leg part.

Just be sure you match color.

You can use a proxy to order off of the Azone Japan site too.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

i could be wrong but i think that it means you pop off her feet and slip the leg into the boot since it's plastic. similar to dollfie dream saber's legs/ armor pieces.

i'm basing my assumption off this video around mm 03:30, comments on myfigurecollection, and some yahoo japan auctions photos where her feet are not attached.

You don’t need to replace the entire body; the AZO2 uses the Obitsu frame, and you can buy the internal frame parts separately. All you would need to fix this is the bust part and the stomach part.

But if you want to replace the whole body, it would be easiest to just buy a new AZO2 Body G-Bust. The body uses proprietary bust and torso shells with standard Obitsu 50 legs (unlike later releases of different AZO2 bodies which come with proprietary vinyl shells for the legs, which is why the listing specified this and seems to be what’s confusing you).

A whole body is quite pricey and not always in stock, but you can find it on Azonet here. You may or may not need a proxy to buy it (Azone has been trying to expand their services internationally in the last couple of years, but I’m not sure if their webstore ships overseas yet), but they also have a Rakuten store you might be able to order it from.

That's my understanding as well.

That is also correct. Her boots are plastic so her feet have to be removed to put them on. The same is true of Kyoko Sayaka.
