Hair Help

I just got my hands on a Tomy Liccarize CardCaptor Sakura doll! She is part of a custom obitsu project I plan to write about once I get all the parts together and can meet the qualifications for posting pictures. However, the rooted hair she came with is kind of sticky and course. It even has a big gap unless it's hanging just right. Is there anything I can do to make it softer? Or should I find someone who does re-rooting services?

Coarseness could just be from the hair fiber quality, but stickiness could be from either too much styling product being used for in box presentation, or (if you collect playline dolls, you may be familiar with this) it could even be the glue that secures the rooted hair leaking out.  I've yet to reroot a doll, so I can't help you there, but good luck fixing her up.
