Our Generation (aka American Girl) Accessories for Dollfie Dream/Other 1:3/1:4 Scale Dolls

Recommended Posts

Just a general public service announcement... the Our Generation (aka American Girl) accessories are a perfect size for 1:3 and 1:4 scale vinyl dolls.

I was fortunate to find the stationery set pictured below in a local toy shop. It was on sale too. Then I went to TK Maxx (not sure which countries these are in) and found a heavily discounted animal care set, cooking set and cupcake bake set. The vet set is really cool. The cooking set has miniature foods although the sizing of stuff is a little off (for Our Generation dolls too).

We also have the travel set which we bought last year. It has toothpaste, a passport and camera etc. etc. The sunglasses also fit DD dolls.

Rin and Hana are trying to work out how to pay for Rem & Ram. I think they've decided Towa will have to go because of all that snacking 😭. But their bigger issue is trying to decide if Hana is holding a protractor or a pair of compasses. An even bigger issue is Ciel finding out Hana has borrowed her precious glasses.

I don't know if the furniture stuff would be a good fit but I'm tempted to pick up one of the horses. Remember the outfits definitely do not fit most vinyl dolls!

Oh and you can find the stuff on eBay but it's generally highly sought after and auctions often end in bidding wars. Yard sales/thrift places might be better places to look. The stationery in particular is really cool. The scissors move and I think the pencil sharpener would actually work.

My Dollfie doll family December 2024 😊. Towa believes they are 34 in number.

Yesss, I've seen them in Target and have been wanting to get some sets for my little dudes! Our Generation, American Girl, Wellywishers for 1/4....anything labeled for 18inch dolls is a good scale for 1/3 and likely 1/4, though their clothes are a no-go (except for maybe Smartdoll Pear with some tailoring). On another note, I was checking Target's website to make sure I got all the 18 inch brands I could think of, and saw this:

I've seen a few people with the pink bunkbed set from this brand before, it seems to suit MDD sized dolls perfectly. :)

@cheerycherry Spot on. The bigger playsets themselves are scaled to Target's American Girl knockoff, and therefore a perfect height for MSD / MDD. DD is going to be too tall for most of the vehicles / rooms / dioramas, but the props are excellent, especially for the price vs official American Girl, and some of the furniture might be fudged to work with taller dolls, depending on what it is and how they're posed. Mileage varies on this.

Not Towa! 😭

It's interesting that you found these at a TJ Maxx! I've never seen them anywhere but Target; both Target and Wal-mart have a knockoff American Girl brand. Our Generation is the superior line in terms of overall quality (Paint jobs, plastics, fabrics in the clothes), but giving My Life As credit, it offers some unique things, including a vending machine, arcade cabinet, and those furry round chairs that were all the rage in the 90s. Our Generation tends to be more detailed / offer more props though.

Has this been confirmed? I know quite a lot of Glitter Girl clothing just barely fits MDD. How much bigger are the Our Generation outfits?

Glitter Girls and other 14" dolls are a lot smaller than 18" dolls. Here's a comparison pic. For a Dollie frame of reference, Our Generation clothes are a decent fit for Smart Doll Pear.

I found a beach set. It had a few DD sized items - the snorkel is a pretty good fit and the beach towel is about the best item.

I also found a couple more discounted math sets. I don't know how recent this set is but it's probably the best set for a DD or MDD that I've seen.

The Katana is definitely not Our Generation... it's a Volks one.

I've gotten really lucky with FB marketplace in my area for 18" doll furniture. I got the American Girl 80s bunkbed for $50CAD(!!!!) and the Our Generation white bunkbed for $20, but it was missing the bedding so I made my own. Funny story, the OG seller was literally two blocks from my house, so I had it in-hand within minutes of messaging the seller lmao....

I also got a super cute OG Bench Swing from Toys R Us. I don't remember the price, but it wasn't too crazy and it's soooooo cute with MDDs in spring/summer.
