more permanent solution to elf ears falling off?

Recommended Posts

Hello! this is sort of a dumb question but i can’t seem to find any information online. I recently bought the elf ears for my smart doll. they keep falling off when i pose her. i want them to be more permanent but the only thing im finding online is to use putty. i’m worried that will look messy and ill still have issues with them falling off. does anyone have any suggestions for keeping them on more permanently without damaging the doll? i’m tempted to glue them on but im scared of damaging the vinyl or there being a chemical reaction to the glue. i’m not super worried about resale value as i plan on keeping my dolls :)

I think hot glue should be fine. Since that's what Volks does with dollfie and their eyes, I don't think it would be any different with Smartdolls and elf ears.

  • Thanks 1

A little blu-tack goes a long way. I'd give that a try first.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

I like the permanence of the hotglue, but need to be able to easily swap to putty to fit inside a travel bag. Do you think this would damage the doll/ears long term? The ears I have aren't a good fit and falls off even with putty.

They fit under the wig, right? Maybe you can use a silicone wig cap or pitatto ring to hold them in place?

I think this might be what i try… especially since hot glue is pretty easy to remove most of the time with a little force. Thanks!

I am going to give it a shot and I’ll update when i do. I would think once the glue is dry it wouldn’t cause damage and then when you are ready to pop them off, hot glue doesn’t usually leave a residue with other smooth objects from my experience. Ill let u know how it goes lol XD

I'm also wondering the same. My friends suggested eye putty or larger magnets inside the head. I already have a glue gun so that was my go-to idea. I'm going to try the putty then the hot glue if that fails. Please let us know if the hot glue worked for you, I'm very curious!
