introduction Hello new to BJD!

Hey 👽👽 I'm pretty new to BJD but am a doll collector (monster high and Pullip) and also a girlpla builder. My first BJD is gonna be a secondhand Azone Lillia! in 2025 I'm hoping to get Sakura Miku as my first DD, although if that doesn't work out gonna try to make a DDS size Teto Kasane. While I am researching care and stuff like that I learn better interacting with others so if Anyone has advice or tips or just wants to say anything I'd greatly appreciate it thank you!

Pullip and Girlpla you say? You'll find fans of those here too! (It's me. I'm the fan.)
I'm also hoping to make an MMD Teto eventually! Welcome welcome! If you need any advice or anything, there's loads of info on the forum, and if you need to talk I'd be willing to listen! I bet a lot of people on here would be!

I love those red eyes! I'm really interested/scared in the wig situation for Teto, if we can't find a drill curl wig we'd likely have to make ones using cosplay techniques (SarahSpaceman has a great video on that for a Teto cosplay actually) and that sounds like an absolute nightmare lmao. I'm gonna guess from your avatar you'll be making her UTAU look? I grew up with that so that's my plan, though if my sewing skills improve enough I'd love to make her VSynth and maybe even her Miku Symphony looks!

I'm thinking MAYBE trying a different technique using hair spray/gel/glue and a cone (depends what's safe for vinyl I do have got2be but have to look into it)

I did make some weird concept drawing thingies if I go with DDS body, If I do somehow bag Miku I'd probably just swap her eyes and wig around to make teto like Aeris from Deviant art did.

Hello!! Welcome to the forum. The timing of your post is quite funny because I was just working on my Teto custom last night. Currently working on the shirt/blouse (whatever you wanna call it lol), just gotta figure out how to get the collar on right and then the breast pockets. My plan for her wig is gonna be using brushed out yarn wefts instead of hair though! In my mind, I feel like I would have more control over the fibers. Love your take on her face-up you posted too. All Teto's are good, but her UTAU design is truly the goat.

Ooo, may I share my Teto design as well? I love comparing how people shell character dolls!

Yours is very much more looking like the actual Teto, while mine is more my own take on her, hehe. It's neat how different they are!

This is so so cute!! how do you plan to do the mouth?

I haven't decided whether I'm going to paint it or do a mouth mod, it will probably depend on my confidence level with mouth mods once I get around to my Teto. Before her I actually have DDP versions of the Kagamine twins I want to make!
