denpagirl Posted December 9, 2024 hi everyone! my friend needs your help! there are very very very light blue spots on poor AP elle's upper thighs. she is a soft skin tan AP. i know that the go-to is zit cream (friend will probably get remove-zit from twinpines) but i am worried because i haven't been able to find anyone that used it on a soft skin, tan AP, and i dont know if it will react differently due to the soft vinyl or accidentally "bleach" her skin white in the spots thank you so much and sorry if this has already been answered! Tierparkzone Posted December 9, 2024 Poor Elle! It's possible that @K-2 might know a bit about the interactions between Remove Zit and AP vinyl specifically. But you'll definitely have to expect that any stain removal cream will very likely also nuke the blushing in the treated area. If it's just a light stain there's always the option to just sit it out. As long as the source of the stain (i.e. the outfit, piece of lint, etc.) is not in contact anymore, the dye will continue to diffuse through the vinyl and the stain will become weaker and eventually unnoticeable. A few years ago, my Ellie ended up with a few mystery stains on her thigh too. - After about 4-6 months the stain was gone again without any special treatment. I just made sure that no dark lint would sneak into her high socks anymore. Photo Story - Photo Thread - make your own signature like this
chef_mai Posted December 9, 2024 I'd recommend waiting it out. The stains will fade over time without the blushing also being affected. I've had an AP torso that stained heavily after putting on TTYA shorts. It looked horrible at the time, but over a year later, it's so difficult to see that I can't tell it ever happened. K-2 Posted December 10, 2024 I have had no adverse effects from using Remove-Zit on AP tan skin. It is my information that what makes soft skin soft is that it is the same vinyl formulation, just much thinner. Unfortunately, no stain remover is able to tell the difference between a stain (bad!) and blushing (good!). If the stain isn't too bad (you have to make the call on this one), as recommended by Tierparkzone and chef mai, you can try waiting it out and maybe perform a little surface cleaning. As stains and vinyl behave like two very, very thick liquids, the stain will continue to "soak in" and diffuse in the vinyl over time. Depending on the severity of the stain and its source, it can be a long time and possibly it may not disappear completely. If the stain is really bad, you might consider searching for replacement parts. Even if the blushing isn't a dead on match, you can swap the replacement part in while you work on the stained part. It can be easier to work on a single part unconnected to the doll. If you go this route, the temporary part doesn't necessarily have to be soft skin. Good Luck!

If the stain is in the vinyl, and blush is on the outside surface, could the stain removers be applied inside to minimize impact on the blush? The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

Please excuse me if I don't run out and stain someone (choruses of shrieks and wailing from the nearby Smart Doll shelf) to give it a try. Due to the thickness of normal vinyl, I'd guess it might be slow going, but a serious stain on the much thinner soft skin vinyl would certainly be worth a try.
