"Crystal Snow" Snow Miku 2025 2 Special Projects

looks like volks just announced they will having a two-part project for snow miku 2025 soon !

as per the special website, the special event will have two linked parts! "crystal snow bundle order" and "sapporo showroom linked project" (loose translation from what i see). they say, details coming soon at anytime 😄 

i must say i am a bit wary of these gloves haha, but i wonder what they are planning !

Typically we talk about new Miku outfits in this thread, although it’s not like a hard rule or anything.

Is ‘bundle’ what the machine translation says? (For some reason I can’t get it to work on my end so I can’t check)Because the Japanese just says ‘set’ - which I wanted to mention because the word ‘bundle’ can be confusing as it implies the doll is included, whereas ‘set’ is what they also use for outfit sets like this.
As for the Sapporo Store  ‘project’, historically this has always just been new old stock sales of past Miku outfits for the duration of the Snow Miku event that is held annually in Sapporo, so it’s not something particularly newsworthy to most of this forum I imagine - unless anyone is lucky enough to be in Sapporo next month of course.

As for the set itself - I think they did a decent job translating this years design into doll clothes as it was an incredibly challenging one, but unfortunately most of the recent designs are just really intended as illustrations and static figures more than anything else. I personally don’t really like how parts of the outfit are stark white instead of the more blue-toned white (approaching pale blue) in the illustration. The wig is maybe as admirable an effort they could do considering how physics defyingly Pretty Cure-Esque the original is, but I’m not sure how long it could actually stay I like the photo. More than anything though, while I know they can’t really do this ‘officially’ I think this years outfit would look better modelled on Rin (or a DD with a similar face) since her face is so much more :3 than usual.

(I would also like to see a chibi mdd version with DCH30)

It's really pretty and quite tempting. Although, I have a feeling with her arms down, it wouldn't feel quite as grandiose as previous outfits feels since this one isn't huge and puffy. But I think what surprises me is how they interpreted the top to be a different colour than the skirt, and such a difference in hue too.

I really love how they did her twintail drills! She looks so cute and elegant, makes me wish I had a Snow Miku!

Honestly, I'm not super thrilled with this one. I like the artwork but the actual outfit has me meh. I do love the wig though and may seek that out of anyone would ever willingly part with it. 

I said this in the other thread, but I'm not a fan of the wig, actually. The concept art has this big pop of light blue in the hair, and it's barely noticeable in the wig. Sad, because I like the rest of the outfit!

Me neither, but in my case I can’t stand how they styled the bangs (feel the same way about the Winter Delicacy Set wig too). I get that they’re trying to recreate the look of the artwork, but it doesn’t translate well and just looks ridiculous.

A lot of stylistic choices were made in translation here and very few of them are good, imo. It doesn't even look like the fabric pouf on her one twintail is hemmed or otherwise finished! That's a raw fabric edge right there!

Hmmm not sure about this. I didn't like the  choices last year and ended up skipping and it looks like I might this year. I need to see more pictures

Well, maybe I'm in the minority, but I love this wig and outfit, despite the unfinished look of the hair ribbon and the gloves.  I think I'm going to try for this one since I missed out on the 2019 Snow Princess outfit.  I hope that another Yukine also comes with it.

I’m liking this too! Not necessarily as a Miku outfit but it has a lot of cute pieces that will work wonderfully towards an OC I’m slowly putting together. The wig looks like it might be a bit finicky to work with although I particularly love how the fabric around the shoulders is constructed and I hope it’ll naturally sit well when on the doll. Just not too keen on the gloves and the way the loose pearl chain/belt thingy hangs.
