DD or DDS

I’ll be ordering my first dollfie soon but right now I’m having a hard time picking between Karin or candy on the jp website.Are there any major differences between the two bodies that helped any of yall choose? thank you -signed Moist

the primary difference is in the height, with the dds body being a bit shorter than the regular dd body! dds is also a bit slimmer in the waist/hips. here's a photo from forum member @/yenna comparing the dds & dd III bodies on the left & middle (a generation older than the f3 bodies karin or candy would come with, but i don't think there were any major shell changes between those gens; someone correct me if i'm wrong ;;;)

only difference from this photo would be that dd candy comes with one of the larger busts which might be hard to fit into some clothes! you could always get a smaller bust for her though. personally, i was always drawn to the slightly shorter stature of the dds, though ultimately the difference is not that large C-: they can share almost all clothing except maybe exactly-tailored pants, so your options would be the same regardless of who you choose!

If it's the new 2.0 body, the bust and torso parts are the same as DD, so they aren't slimmer anymore.

i'm pretty sure karin & candy are only available with f3 & older bodies since they are standard models! although that is extremely useful to know in case op decides to to purchase just a base body instead C-:

Thank you all for such wonderful advice this does help me choose. I’d love to get them all but bills :(. I don’t have any plans to get a base body yet until I can find someone to do a face up since I’ve never done one before

I always just go with whoever has the face I want. Never worried too much about the body since that’s easy to replace, but for what it’s worth, my first two Dollfies were both DDS and I thought their proportions were quite nice (although 60cm dolls are quite big, so you might be in for a surprise if you’ve never handled one before).

Now that I have many dolls on many different bodies, I can say that they all look lovely in their own way. In the end, it probably won’t matter much because if you’re like everyone else here, you will probably end up with multiple dolls anyway 😄

Just make sure you pick up the newer ones on the f3 bodies and not the DDIII bodies.

Yikes, where was this detail confirmed? (I'm guessing it's from people who've already received the new DDS girls?)

I have Takina, and her torso seems to be identical in size to the DD torso, but her height is DDS for sure.

Do you think that there would be a fitment issue if I tried to put the newer bust on the older lower torso? (I imagine that if I swapped both parts, the legs would then become an issue and make this a near full body swap)

When I got my first tinyfox doll my partner looked over my shoulder and whispered “it always starts with one” and now here we are. I have no doubt I’ll ended up getting multiples

My first Dollfie was DDdy Towa (center). I just liked her face the most.

Her first sister was DDS Uzuki Shimamura (left) followed by Kizuna AI (right).

DDS is a cute size if you have a DD too.

I think the opening in the older bust is too narrow.

Do you think you would be able to share a comparison photo of the new DDS body next to the previous iteration of DDS? I'm really curious to see how different the wider torso makes it look in the end. No worries if you're not able to though!

The torso parts are the same between the DD and DDS, but the arms and legs are shorter, and the legs are slimmer for sure. I think the arms are probably slimmer too, but the difference isn't as profound.
