Colour comparison between Dollfie and Blythe dolls

Recommended Posts

arianamii

Hi! I am looking to customise a Dollfie Dream head and found out Blythe doll customisers sell more readily available UV clay than the options I found for Dollfie (most of them were via proxies and the cost would add up for the amount you would receive) I wanted too see if anyone here had a Dollfie Dream with flesh skin tone and happened to have a Blythe doll with a natural/white/cream/fair skin tone so I can compare and pick the best colour for my doll since i don't own a Blythe doll of my own. I would appreciate if anyone who fits the criteria could post some pictures to compare in natural/decent lighting!

Thank you in advance :3

I've actually been really curious about this too... I know Blythes are usually hybrid-ed onto obitsu 22/24's, and obitsu's "whitey" is a pretty dang fair match for DD fresh in my experience. Unfortunately I dont have a blythe doll to truly compare but i'd say it might work really well if you use a DD fresh skintone head. I might actually try this myself soon...!

(apologies for the double post) I did some research and if you really want to ensure that you get a good color match, you can actually get UV "builder gel" for (human) nail art and it should be pretty much the exact same thing. I think that also comes in some flesh-tone colors as well and not just clear. I'm assuming the people selling blythe color matches are mixing theirs with some sort of pigment to make sure it matches the blythe faces perfectly so you could probably DIY and buy the materials for cheaper?

Do you know which colour Blythe is used on the whitey obitsu bodies? that's the thing I really need since the sculpting material is matched the Blythe skin tones, I assume it would be Fair (Natural) or Fair judging by whats on the blythe online store but I am not sure ;w;

As for customising it, I am god awful and colour matching and I feel like i would have a better time if it was pre mixed since the store I found selling them has matched them so well it feels like I would have an easier time

Update from what I have now seen, Blythe's skin tones are sadly inconsistent so it might be hard to truly match them, but from what it looks like the cream skin tone on blythe matches best with the whitey obitsu skin tone, so that at least gives me an idea of what will work

Yeah, I have a DD fresh head on a parabox/obitsu whitey and it matches very well. Here's Pino holding his headcap - fresh skin with obitsu whitey hands. The headcap is SLIGHTLY warmer in tone but barely noticible - if you can find whatever Blythe skintone matches obitsu whitey then you'll have a pretty close match.  Might need a little bit of blushing to bring it all together, but it should still work.

It's been a LONG time since I've had a Bylthe or Pullip but iirc their lightest shades tend to match obitsu 'whitey' as well... just don't take my word for it.
