Heeeey guys, so it's been a while. I have a couple different doll projects I'm juggling right now, plus some ones I haven't started yet. So I thought I'd make this thread as a kind of all-encompassing thing for any of my WIPs and idea vomit. Feel free to interact and chat with me about stuff! This is likely to mostly be me rambling though.

So, a small thing to start with: currently almost all my dolls are all in storage and I am NOT HAPPY about it. My landlord said he was coming over so I cleaned the place up, expecting him to be there that week.....that was like three weeks ago and he has absolutely left me with no clue when he's visiting. So I'm a little grumpy about that. Currently, the only dolls I have out are a resin head I'm working on, two resin dolls that arrived during this holding pattern I'm in, and the newly-assembled DD girl Pastel. I really need to take photos of more of my dolls so I can make them profiles on-site (and pixels for them!), but currently that's where I'm at.

So, besides all that....

So, currently in progress projects. 

I have a few dolls I need to buy bodies for- most pressingly, I need an Imomodoll Mimi body in Milk, of either chest size, for my dolls Upside and Mistral to share. I also wanna get a Imomodoll 1/6 body to dye black for my guy Little Boy Lost. But the current doll project I'm buying parts for is sloooowly assembling my Angelphilia girl, Honey! She has a Type I torso, hips, and thighs plus a Type J head. I just got in a shipment from Parabox of frame parts, but I have to work around what's out of stock if I don't wanna go through a proxy for the Obitsu shop. Plus I accidentally bought a torso frame piece when I already had one OTL. As a self reminder, the frame parts I still need are the chest, shoulders, knees, and wrists! I also need upper and lower arm shells, hands and feet, and shins. I should probably window shop for eyes and a wig for her too, and figure out what the heck Angelphilia can even wear.

One doll of mine also needs clothes: Specifically, my Obitsu 50/48 (It's a long story) girl Nowhe. I'm thinking something kind of sporty and butch? She just has a white ribbed tank top right now. A bunch of these guys also needs shoes, but I've accepted that shoes are just my last priority for my dolls.

Now onto WIPs that currently exist only in my head! 

I'm making custom DDP Ren and Len Kagamine dolls, and a DDS Hatsune Miku!! I looove Vocaloid, but I'm not a huge fan of the official head molds and faceups. Plus, I want them to be a little smaller. So this is my plan! I have mockups for these three, plus Ren and Len's official clothes- I might have to tailor them some for DDP bodies, we'll have to see. But right now that's about as far as things have gotten. I have a lot of blank heads I still need to do faceups for, plus some resin guys that need them, so I'll get around to buying heads for them when I run out of those. Here are my mockups!

Eventually I'd like to make Neru, Teto, and Gumi too, and I even have mockups for the first two! But my apartment is really tiny and I'm already running out of room, so those will have to be projects for down the line when I have more space. Btw, if anyone has suggestions for eyes for Rin+Len and for Miku, please let me know! I've lost every Lotta Mimi auction I've bid on OTL

Finally, the little miscellaneous corner!

Besides resin and vinyl, I have three other doll projects I really want to complete. Well, ok, not counting the nendodoll I'm making, but that just is waiting on parts to arrive in the mail and assembly. The other projects are a Splatoon Inkling picconeemo doll that still needs clothes and hair, a Harmonia Humming doll that needs eyes, hair, and clothes, and a custom pureneemo project.

The Pureneemo is the one I'm gonna talk about because it's the most interesting. It's aaaa....I think M Male body, in flesh, with a head that is actually a Parabox Petite P-Chan. I need to buy fiber to either reroot or make a wig for him as my first step. Then it's giving him a faceup and finding the appropriate wardrobe. You see, I wanna customize him into my favorite Animal Crossing villager, Toby!

I basically wanna give him this exact face, teal-green hair with a yellow bottom half, and a cute outfit reminiscent of his usual style. I think the idea is super cute, but I've been so lazy about getting the supplies for it. I do not miss rerooting from my fashion doll days.

And that's it for the first entry here! Feel free to suggest ideas for what my Harmonia should look like btw, she's a Cocoa Harmonia Humming head on a Harmonia Near body. I'm not changing her face-up, but I have no clue what direction to go for for her look. Anyways, until next time!

Aw, thank you!! I'm really inspired by like, more funky anime styles, plus anime-esque cartoons!

Here's a small thought experiment I've been considering. Once again, little to no space and many projects ahead of me, so for now this is just something to think about for fun. But I'm a biiiig Rozen Maiden fan. It got me into anime, J-fashion, Pullips, and BJDs in one fell swoop as a kid. But I think both the Super Dollfie and Dolk Rozen Maiden dolls just kind of feel like......semi-realistic sculpts cosplaying as the characters? So I was thinking on how I would want them to be in an ideal world, and that's definitely as anime-styled dolls. So.....what would my ideas be for each of the characters?

For those who know little to nothing about Rozen Maiden: It's about a group of living BJDs made by a man named Rozen who fight to the death to become 'Alice', the perfect human girl. It's made by the pair that made Shugo Chara. It has a manga that ran from 2002-2007, two seasons of an anime from 2004-2006 (the second season is called Träumend) and a 2013 anime reboot/sequel (it's complicated). So I'll be kind of combining my fav stuff from all three sources! Feel free to give suggestions on sculpts you think would work for them too!

Suigintou

The 1st Rozen Maiden. Sneaky, self-absorbed, a bit sadistic. The eldest sister of the group and the one taking the Alice Game most seriously. She also happens to be my favorite! My first ever Pullip (and first ever doll I intentionally collected) was the 2004 Suigintou release!

Size: DD (SS)

Skintone: Semi-White (In a perfect world, White)

Sculpt Ideas: DDH-07, DDH-24, Yor Forger, Scáthach-Skadi, Emilia, Kanzaki Ranko

I personally am nostalgic towards the sharper features of the 2004 anime, plus those spooky pink eyes. I think it makes her stand out more, if that makes sense? Though I also like the face and eye shape of the manga. My absolute favorite option of these is proooobably Skadi for her pointed chin and slanted eyeshape. Her outfit would be absolute hell to have on her for any longer than a few hours.

Kanaria

The 2nd Rozen Maiden. Talkative, a know-it-all, cheerful. I'llll be honest, she's the last of the main Rozen Maidens introduced, all the way in Träumend, so I haven't actually gotten to her yet. I have the least attachment to her because of this.

Size: DDP (S)

Skintone: Flesh or Semi-White

Sculpt Ideas: DDH-22, DDH-28, Ryugu Rena, Arle, Tamano Mayu

Not much to say on this one. My favorite of these is probably DDH-28? Though Tamano Mayu's existing faceup fits the 2004 anime really well.

Suiseiseki

The 3rd Rozen Maiden, and the older twin of Souseiseki. Tsundere, caring, but absolutely wacky. Probably my second favorite girl. She just always has something nuts going on with her. Is the reason 'desu' was a meme in the early 2000s.

Skintone: Semi-White

Sculpt Ideas: DDH-06, Mash, Anastasia, Kuonji Alice, Rem

Weirdly hard for me to find ones I like for her! I generally prefer the manga and 2013 anime looks for her. I think Mash or Rem would probably be my favorite head.

Souseiseki

The 4th Rozen Maiden, and younger twin of Suiseiseki. Serious, honorable, and kind of shy. Despite how she dresses, she's a girl.

Skintone: Semi-White

Sculpt Ideas: All of Suiseiseki's sculpts, plus Ram

Since she's a twin and mostly different in how frowny she is, I thought she'd mostly share sculpts with Suiseiseki. Mash or Ram for her!

Shinku

The 5th Rozen Maiden. Aristocratic, kind of bratty, and very serious. She's the main character, and I just got a Pullip of her literally this week!

Skintone: Semi-White

Sculpt Ideas: DDH-09, DDH-14, DDH-24, Hatsune Miku, Kuonji Alice

Similar to Suigintou, I prefer her sharper eyes from the original anime, they make her look very distinct. That said, I want her to look less mature than Suigintou. I think DDH-14 is probably my fav here!

Hinaichigo

The 6th Rozen Maiden, and final 'normal' one. Childish, spoiled, but very cheerful and sweet. She's kind of a big baby.

Skintone: Semi-White or Flesh

Sculpt Ideas: DDH-13, DDH-22, DDH-27, Escalayer

I think DDH-22 is pretty much a no-brainer here.

Barasuishou

The 7th Rozen Maiden, kind of. Emotionless and driven to win the Alice Game. Only in Träumend.

Size: DD (SS)

Skintone: Semi-White (I wish White didn't stain so bad...)

Sculpt Ideas: DDH-05, Yor Forger, Anastasia, Rei Ayanami Maid Ver, Takane Shinjou

Mostly here for completion's sake, but finding looks for her was fun. Takane and DDH-05 and probably the closest sculpts in my eyes.

Kirakishou

The 7th Rozen Maiden. Childish, unhinged, predatory. Only in the manga and second anime series.

Skintone: Semi-white

Sculpt Ideas: DDH-08, DDH-23, Sagisawa Fumika, Mariko

I looooove Kirakishou, she's so spooky! I think DDH-23 or Mariko would be best for her big ol eyes.
