A Fair Price for Millhi?

Yes, as the title indicates, I'd very much like to know what people consider a fair price for the Millhi DDS-doll.

I care to know because I plan to, in the future when I actually have some sort of income, search for a Millhi doll since it's the only DD-girl I've been desperately in love with.

Therefore, I'd like to know what I have to expect.

I've already checked YJA and found out that the most common price for a full-set Millhi is around 77,000yen, which is still expensive but I guess, rather fair.

I'd still like to hear other's opinions.

I second Kumi's estimate. Paying around $1000 to $1100 for Millhi seems fair. As time goes on she may go up slightly in value but really anywhere from about 65K to 90K is the range on most girls.

Those two up there gave you a very accurate estimate, around 1000-1200 after shipping is reasonable. It might seem expensive but that is considered a very cheap price in the DD after market.

It's reasonable, there's the odd time that you can find a doll for much cheaper - retail is what I'd say the minimum is to expect to pay. Dolls that are inflated because of their popularity are a poor comparison - so many of the girls fall into the regular range but some people think that because Sasara can sell for over $2000 they can sell their girl for that price.

 

Sometimes you do get lucky though and you can pick up a DD for UNDER $1,000 on the aftermarket but it is exceptionally rare.

Really? Do you mean limited/character DD's or just any DD's? I don't think it's rare at all to find DD's for under $1000 USD.... I have yet to pay over $900 for ANY of my girls. And I'd say at least half of them were $600 or less. All you have to do is look around, talk to people, do your homework and have a bit of luck on your side and you can adopt a DD for a really good price. It just takes time and patience.

This exactly, prices fluctuate a ton. I managed to snag my Sakuno (fullset) for $500, but my Noumi ended up costing $1,200 with her extra outfits. A lot of it is luck or timing, but getting a doll for under $1,000~$900 does seem pretty rare--especially because we don't have direct access to YJ most of the time and have to pay shipping both ways + proxy fees!

And remember, not that long ago 1USD ~ 100JPY or more, now it's only ~80JPY.

So the prices on Y!J around ~80kJPY were ~800$ or less, now it's ~1000$ or more.

 

To me it's especially frustrating, because at the same time our currency lost to $ around 40% so DDs are now almost two times more expensive than earlier...

I think for her complete outfit with the gloved hands, wig, tail and ears, as well as her boots around $300 would be a fair price. Anything over $400 is too much and it may take a while to sell. Anything under ~$250 is too little as a Volks standard wig ($50) plus boots ($70) plus a nice dress ($150) and extra hands ($25) would cost more than that. Does that make sense?

not sure does this affect dollfie market also, Dog Days season 2 was announced last year so it may raise the price and popularity in the market for millhi when season 2 is aired.

Possibly, but probably not by much. How many people that have or want Yuki Morikawa ever watched or played White Album? I'm guessing not that high a number. It seems like most people want dollfies for their appearance more then back story. I love DD Mashiro Mito form Tayutama but the anime(which i think was based on a book or game) was really awful. But I still love Mashiro.

K-On! as anime was quite popular, but Yui and Mio, despite being Japan only release, are still going around 80-90k.

You can always ask for more. $350 - $400 would still be acceptable asking prices for her outfit but if you start going higher than that it will become more difficult to sell.

I hated the look of her in the volks photos, I hated the character and I'd never even touch the anime, but as soon as I saw some nice pics taken once people finally got her, her value, for me at least, increased.

 

I think in the long run she will fetch more, but this is from my newbie perspective, so time will tell!

i kind of thinking of why i miss getting her, cos while i don't fancy her default look, when customizing her wig and clothes made her become a attractive lady.

I've never seen a single episode of Dog Days, and, while I didn't like the full-length picture I warmed to the close-up. I was only certain when I saw the pictures of her with Mariko's wig that they released.
