Zoe: Ok. This is getting tedious. It's like they've been squaring off to fight for weeks now!

 

 

Tia: When high-level fighters like Master and Mistress Arturia face off, the first move can be the most critical, so they must spend time assessing and planning the opener carefully.

 

 

Zoe: That's SO boring. Sei-chan should just charge in like I did.

 

 

Tia: I don't believe that worked out very well for you, Zoe-san.

 

 

Zoe: No one likes a smart ass, Tia.

 

Tia: My apologies, Zoe-san.

 

Zoe: It's like an episode of Dragonball Z without all the smack talk!

 

 

Zoe: "Now I shall go super-saberyan on your ass!"

 

 

Tia: This is true. However, it could be worse. It could be Naruto-type filler.

 

 

Zoe: Oh god no! You mean one of those fill-in episodes where they use recycled footage along with poorly drawn connecting footage for a side story with the comedy relief instead of focusing on the major characters?!

 

Tia: Yes. They seem to think it's better to put out a low quality episode to keep the story appear to move when nothing's really happening instead of just doing it right.

 

 

Zoe: Bah! It's just the fault of the lazy writers. They need to churn out things faster. I think I'm going to go take a nap. Wake me if something happens.

Amusing, but the proper way to do DD story filler is to slightly change the angle or zoom of each photo without changing the pose. It's almost as quick but slightly less transparent.

I like to think they've actually been standing on that table for weeks, literally~ I am still excited to see the continuation!

That is so hilarious! That is the first thing I thought. That is so Dragonball Z. haha

Now THIS is good stuff!

 

It's vaugely DBZ but there's way too little screaming while powering up. *EVERYONE* knows that screaming makes you stronger.

 

Really funny stuff tho, I like how you dig on being lazy when it's happening right here. Very nice touch.

I don't actually hate Naruto but I gave up on the anime and just read the manga. It fell into the trap that any anime adapting a currently running manga falls into. Each week, they want a 20 min anime but only have ~20 page of manga published. 20 mins of animation generally requires more than 20 pages of manga for pacing purposes. So, they either have to pad it out tremendously or insert filler arcs. It's hard to do either well and match the quality of the manga-based material.

Ah, sorry... I didn't mean to keep pumping out filler, I was just to lazy to buy the things I needed to finish Mari's project!

 

Now you need to follow up with a filler arc that interrupts the current story, to tell a different tale of the same characters...

LOL! Love the "Poorly drawn connecting footage". And it's somehow fitting that the two 02 girls are the ones loosing patience with it. . . still makes me wonder what Aya's doing this whole time. Laying on the floor with M sticking her in a "standby mode" or something.

 

PS Billy: I also can't stand Naruto. I actually even gave up on the manga because it was so painfully clear to me the author was just pulling plot points out of his @$$.

I'll readily admit I used to enjoy the Naruto anime. Yes it had its problems and its stupid fillers but when the first series was in its early stages, it had some excellent fights and stories. The Chunin Exams was fun and the build up to the Sasuke/Naruto fight was great too with all the oddball baddies they had to take out.

 

But as soon as the Sasuke/Naruto fight was done, everything went right to hell. And I had higher hopes for Shippuden.... until I tried to watch it. It was way worse than the filler from the first series. I truly despised that show. It did have rare glimpses of glory tho like when we got to see Naruto spark into his 3 and 4 tailed forms to fight. THAT was cool to see. Other than that, BLAH.

You've pretty much nailed it, Poofie. Aya's stuck in a "waiting for orders" mode where she's basically still kneeling there, not moving.

 

Yeah, I stopped watching the anime with Shippuden as the padding was way too painfully bad.

Okay. I finally had a chance to read this story from the beginning. And I have to say:

 

I LOVE IT!

 

It's great work. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
