Tokyo Dolpa 27

When I saw the original promo pictures for Maxima/Sakuya, I thought she would have quite a strong expression, tsundere? so the more laid back look has taken me by surprise, which is probably a good thing, as it keeps my funds safe! Rise is more interesting, I wonder is this means one day Volks will release a more SD like standard head?

 

Still waiting/dreaming for a more mature head like Sirius//Kyoko/Maya to be released as a standard head. The look of the Rise head makes me hopeful as those eyes are really nice shape.

I'm torn between Sakuya/Maxima and Rise.

 

But atm the negative balance on my bank account is having an upper hand

I really love them both. I have to stop buying dolls in pairs...Sabers...*cough ~ cough*

It looks like Cirno's "wings" are held up by a harness that fits in the back of her dress. She's very cute, but I'm not sure I need her. Now the body on the other hand, that might just tempt me to get my first MDD. XD

 

Sakuya looks like she comes with a sword. I hope she does, considering her price. I'd prefer that over having to pay extra for it like Avalon.

 

Does it look like Sakuya has a modified L-bust to anyone else?

For my opinion

Sakuya for me is a butter face. Beautiful outfit, hair, etc. everything looks good but her face! So generic and repetitive to me. After a year's worth of similar looking girls she makes me feel bored

Was hoping for more tsundere serious look.

Verdict=pass

 

Cirno is quite cute and reminds me of Illya/sakuya izayoi. Nice to finally see updated MDD body. Not looking to add to MDD family so

Rise has beautiful eye shape and I like that volks is still taking a few risks and styling something outside the norm of wide eyes and tiny nose. Although I had no interest to own Alna I did like that she had a unique face. Even Mari had a little more nose and she looked great. Anime through the decades has had many art styles other than the minuscule nose/wide eyes of the last decade. I think the variety is refreshing!

Verdict=interested. Will wait for more pics.

looks like I am not safe this Dolpa lol I so want to try for Sakuya!

I'll toss my two cents in on this...

 

Cirno is my fave from this group. She is too cute and I love her outfit and wings. Plus, we FINALLY get an upgraded MDD body!

 

Sakuya is very nice! That outfit looks awesome but it also looks like a staining nightmare. She looks to be full of win in my opinion.

 

As for Rise, total fail for me. I don't know her character, I don't know Persona and I don't know why she looks NOTHING like a DD. That new SD look is just not cool to me. DD's are supposed to be more anime styled, not resin styled. I hope we don't see future DD designs going this route because I for sure won't buy any that have this look to them. I do like her wig tho.

If I can hopefully get Rise, I will probably change her eyes. I don't like her eyes very much. She's got cute lips and teeth and a pretty face up which make up for it :3. There are certain Volks original eyes that I don't like at all and Rise's are one of them

Now, I think that I'll have to get Rise just to spite him.

I tend to agree with Billy regarding Rise, she is not "anime" enough for me. I was hoping for an angrier/tsun look for Sakuya as well. Looking at her closer, I'm impressed by her outfit and wig, but not sure if her face is unique enough to want her. I'll have to wait for more pictures.

 

I'm interested in the doctor's outfit, but I already have a DollMore lab coat and the rest is pretty generic. Love the sofa, but so expensive.

Heehee just wanted to put my two cents in about Maxima/Sakuya's character~. She's actually a very onee-san type character; wise, kind, graceful, and respected by all her peers judging from what I've seen from Shining Blade. So I guess that's why she has a more mature/kind face?

 

So despite what her picture is telling everyone, she is far from a tsundere type xD. That title actually goes to Altina (the elf girl that I wish they'd made a DD of lol ).

 

Aww and it seems Rise is a I love her or I don't like her head mold xD. Guess that's good for those who will be trying for her

It's hard to say, Touhou Project has a fanbase for sure but the dollfies are not available to us through Volks USA. When Marisa and Reimu were first introduced nobody outside Japan could even order them. >_<

Yes, chirno is very popular in japan.

Most of my friends want to get chirno.

However, MDD has lower popularity than DD in Japan.

I report it with my blog if I can meet her^^

And wondering if I should enter the international or USA lottery (I'll probably do USA, but I wonder what peoples' success rates are with each)

It really depends on how many people enter, and how many of each model that Volks makes -- neither of which we know.

 

It seems like some lotteries, almost no one wins, and other lotteries, almost everyone wins. It's hard to tell.

 

That said, I must have Rise. Period. MUST.

I might go for Cirno.

 

I'm just hoping that Volks for whatever reason might sell internationally, because I remember Sakuya being available overseas. The lottery method makes it a bit harder for those outside of Japan to try and obtain Cirno.

But if you enter 2 times (using 2 people to enter for you, I mean) and you win 2 dolls, maybe can you leave one? Or you can skip to get one and she's won by someone else?

I'll enter them if someone shows me how? I don't care much for Cirno but I can enter for someone if they wanted in exchange for a chance with Rise.
