BKKnight Posted May 15, 2012 I lost my entries as well. Is it more difficult to win in the usa lottery than international now? I haven't won anything from the usa site for over 2 years. I had to get my Lily through international. I wonder if they just do not give usa that many units since they do make way more profit from international sales. I think it's because DDs are more popular now than in the past, so there are more competitions. Also, VolksUSA prices are better than Volks International due to the exchange rate, so there are people outside of the USA entered as well, through a proxy. I know some people do this. They either have their relatives who live in the US entered for them or through their friends. I hope Volks will realize how popular their DDs are and increase their production in the future. neurocidic Posted May 15, 2012 Seriously, if she was a pre-order they would have made major cash. Does anyone have a not cancelled Rise? Maybe Volks will be like, wow, we should do a rerelease of her
DivinitaAria Posted May 15, 2012 Definitely! It's sad when you're like, hey Volks! I'm willing to hand over $600 for this doll! But then they only release so many of them Do they ever release statistics? From the number of people who won her through USA, it seems like more people won through the dealers. Seriously, if she was a pre-order they would have made major cash. Does anyone have a not cancelled Rise? Maybe Volks will be like, wow, we should do a rerelease of her Rise, Rise #2, Kasumi - Rise x 3// Ritsuko - 2B // Momo - M.O.M.O. // Nayuki -Mikuru // Romi - 09 // Makoto - Sailor Jupiter // Mikasa - DD07 (WIP) // Akechi - DDH-

klein Posted May 15, 2012 I have a question about the international lottery as I haven't entered in like two years ^^; To maximize my chance of winning I was thinking of entering twice once using my information and once using my hubby's info, as long as we do not have the same address (I plan on using my bff's address) it shouldn't raise any red flags with Volks right? Yep, I agree with bethykins. You'll be fine. I've never entered for international lottery, but I know VolksUSA doesn't care. I do it with VolksUSA, except my husband's name + credit card + home address for one entry, me + my credit card + PO box for the other entry. Planning to do this for international as well this time around. Are you ready to rock? ^_^

DivinitaAria Posted May 16, 2012 Hey guys I have a question regarding the AE: Do you pay the price + tax or just the base price? Thanks I might give it another try, but because she'll be about 100 dollars more..I'll be broke for quite some time Also, is Cirno available through the AE? Rise, Rise #2, Kasumi - Rise x 3// Ritsuko - 2B // Momo - M.O.M.O. // Nayuki -Mikuru // Romi - 09 // Makoto - Sailor Jupiter // Mikasa - DD07 (WIP) // Akechi - DDH-
BKKnight Posted May 16, 2012 Actually, us Rise = $630 with shipping, international Rise = 820 ish with shipping. International uses EMS for shipping, that alone will be about $80. Yen vs dollar is terrible. The difference is even bigger for Sakuya. On the bright side, you do get your gal within a week from international instead of 2-3 months. DivinitaAria Posted May 16, 2012 $820 Heh, yeah, I might have to scratch that. I don't mind the wait at all either, but that's too much for me Rise, Rise #2, Kasumi - Rise x 3// Ritsuko - 2B // Momo - M.O.M.O. // Nayuki -Mikuru // Romi - 09 // Makoto - Sailor Jupiter // Mikasa - DD07 (WIP) // Akechi - DDH-
BKKnight Posted May 16, 2012 Yea, for us folks, winning international feels like losing sometimes. Still it is much much better than second hand market.
aquilla429 Posted May 16, 2012 $820 Heh, yeah, I might have to scratch that. I don't mind the wait at all either, but that's too much for me That's not a bad deal really, I've seen her selling for much more than that on yahoo Japan and some people I've seen say they would pay up to $1000 for her, so $820 is still a pretty good deal in comparison. gaiaswill Posted May 16, 2012 Because of her (presently) unique resinlike appearance, I must say that I expect her aftermarket price after lotteries to go way up, not hold steady. If you really want her for under $1000, take the international lottery.

I made two account using my address and my moms and a third one using a friends.... so going 3 times for this ;3;'... it would suck a lot not to win once.... DJStarstryker Posted May 17, 2012 10pm after work tomorrow. Heck yeah. Looking forward to entering the lottery for Rise. Actually, us Rise = $630 with shipping, international Rise = 820 ish with shipping. International uses EMS for shipping, that alone will be about $80. Yen vs dollar is terrible. The difference is even bigger for Sakuya. On the bright side, you do get your gal within a week from international instead of 2-3 months. That's slightly high. Yen is 80 to the dollar today. That's $719 if you're looking at the 57,750 cost. But that's basically the equivalent of paying with the Japanese tax. I've never bought Volks International, but I've never been charged the tax from Japanese online stores. Without the Japanese tax, it's at $685 (55k yen). Rise's probably more at the $765-775 range with exchange rate plus shipping. I see it as $800 max if Volks decides to do tax on us for whatever reason, but that'd be silly to make us pay it when we're not in Japan. Rise doesn't seem that expensive to me, honestly, but then again I'm in Hawaii. Volks USA would charge me probably ~$60 for shipping anyway. So, like I said earlier in the thread, Rise's only ~$100 more for me from International. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
Galvatim Posted May 17, 2012 I thought I heard Volks International charged Japanese tax as a "handling charge," although I can't recall if I had such a charge with Mari. I know she was something like $699.99 after all fees, so I'd expect an extra $100-150 for Rise.
