Also, what is the process of putting in an entry on the international site? You won't know exactly what you pay till they charge your card since the exchange rate fluctuates daily, but it's usually not so much that there should be a significant difference from the rate today which is around 80.451 yen to the dollar. Then the rate that your credit card uses may be a little different from posted rates. If you have multiple credit cards google them to see which one might have no foreign transaction fee (some cards charge this fee when buying stuff in foreign currency) & use that one (make sure you have enough limit) to save a bit more money. When I got Rina from Volks JP they did include the tax & considered it a handling fee. Not really proper but what are you gonna do. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Yup happens to me too with all my cards except Amex....I called them and told them not to flag any Japanese or Korean currency charges and explained my hobby. BKKnight Posted May 17, 2012 820 is actually a very good estimate, they do add tax as a handling charge. The exchange rate will be lower than market rate since credit cards charge fees and paypal's rate is always a couple percent lower than the actual rate. Also there are cards that charge 2 fees when it comes to international currency. I forget the details. All I know is my capital one card doesn't have one of those fees, but not my other cards. Paying through paypal is more expensive than my capital one card, but less than a card that has 2 fees.
